“OI! Hinata! Quit spacing out!” a voice broke your train of thoughts. Your [E/C] eyes shifts from the bags filled with fresh clean jerseys to the court where the volleyball team members were practicing for their next practice match against the Nekoma High School Volleyball team in a few days.  The manager, Kyoko caught a cold and it’s up to you to manage the team needs while she took the day off.

You stood by the side of the court as you watched each of them spike the ball that Kageyama and Sugawara-senpai tossed to them while you jolted important notes on each successful spike they made on each round. Your orbs watched each toss as your hands expertly jolt down the numbers.

You are the team assistant manager. You signed up for this position right after you entered the high school a few months ago. You knew the school volleyball team wasn’t the best in the prefecture but you still chose it despite the offers came from the other powerhouse schools. You were torn between joining the girls’ volleyball team or the manager to the boys’ team but you chose the later after you saw a sight you never thought you would see in your lifetime.

You heard the sound of someone growling from the court as the orange head spiker, Hinata lets out a crocodile tears as he holds the top of his head, “I KEEP TELLING YOU TO QUIT YELLING AT THE TOP OF YOUR LUNGS!!” The raven-haired setter, Kageyama tempted to hit the boy with another punch on the head for getting on his nerves.

“But you’re yelling too!” Hinata retorted back. Kageyama glares at him, freezing him in the process. You giggle at their antics. They never ceased to amaze you by how their chemistry works perfectly well during a match but right now, it is nothing more than a comedy on court.

“_____- san, can you help me here?” the short male teacher, Takeda calls out for you as he motioned to you to come over as he tries to carry the new set of volleyballs that the school just ordered a month ago into the gym. The current ones they are using were getting worned out due to the hardcore practice the team has been doing. Kageyama has been a total sadist to the worned out balls as he toss them none stop during practice, “No doubt the new ones can last longer than the old ones” you mumbles.

Takeda-sensei laughs, “It can’t be helped. They’re boys after all.” He helped you putting the ones in the plastic bags into the extra basket. You furrowed, “More like monsters. I mean look at this one, it’s beyond recognizable!” you grab a completely worned out ball from the shelves behind you. The teacher sweat dropped.

“Who are you calling monsters?” a sharp monotonic voice interrupts. You froze without turning around; “He’s behind me isn’t he?” the teacher nodded. You could feel the temperature dropped hundreds of degrees in the store as his glares bores holes into your back. You couldn’t find the courage to turn around. The teacher quickly excused himself from the dead zone after the coach calls for him.

You pretended that the store needed more cleaning as you grabbed the broom nearby, not turning around to look at the owner of the death glare, ‘I guess this is how Hinata-kun feels. It’s like he won’t be able to stay alive without glaring at someone’ you mentally cringed when you accidently hit your foot on the broken broom that Nishinoya-senpai once broke. You crouched down but you didn’t notice the stand on the wall cabinets were old and barely holding the heavy stuffs on it.

“You should be careful in here, the shelves are old.” The setter from hell warned as he turns around. You mumble, “Yea, yea I will.”

You heard the sound of things falling but it was too late for you to move aside, “_____! WATCH OUT!”  Someone covers you with their body as you turn into a ball. You could hear the person groaning in pain as the things drops on him. Everything turns silent after the person moves aside. You opened your eyes and looked at your savior. Your heart nearly stopped when you saw the bleedings on his arms and head, “Ka-Kageyama! Stay here, I’ll go get help!” but you didn’t need to, the other team mates were already there after they heard the sound from their storage.  Daichi and Asahi quickly helped the first year setter up when he his knees buckles and fell onto you, almost, flattening you to death with his weight.
