day 2 [part b]

the inmate's eyes widened.

"m-murder?" he stuttered, shaking slightly.

taehyung looked down, tears brimming his eyes.

"please believe me... i... would never kill tae in. i loved her. she and i would play together everyday. she was just a little girl... and now she's gone. it's hard enough loosing my baby sister in such a gruesome way, but having people accuse me of killing her makes it all the more painful," taehyung poured his heart out.

all the things he's wanted to say.

all the thing he couldn't say.

he finally said them.

all the tears he didn't shed.

fell onto his inmate uniform like
pouring rain.

the inmate simply patted his back, assuring him that it was okay.

after a few minutes, taehyung wiped his eyes, and smiled a bit.

"i'm really happy we met," he gave a cute, boxy smile to his new friend.

"i am, too!" his friend gave an adorable smile back.

the bell rang.

time for work...

as the man stood up, a question popped into taehyung's mind:

"wait! what's your name?"

the man smiled again.

"jimin. park jimin."

was all he said, and he walked away.

and for the first time in a long time, taehyung felt....

happy.

when night fell, taehyung stared at the stars, reminiscing the time he spent with his sister, looking at stars through a telescope he had bought for her.

so many things started racing through his mind;

·why didn't anyone believe me?

·i loved tae in so much, i could never hurt her.

·my whole life is to be wasted here in this house of killers and stealers all because someone else said i killed my sister.

·and her killer is out there right now.

taehyung was enraged.

who would have such a cold heart as to murder a beautiful, innocent little girl?

soon enough, taehyung's anger turned to sadness, as he cried himself to sleep.
