Old Friends With Benefits (Lams)

Chapter One~Summer sun and sweet treats

*3rd person POV*

2 boys sat on the front step of an ice cream shop licking their cones. The air was warm and a gentle breeze blew through. The sun was setting in the sky painting shades of pink, red, orange, yellow and purple. They licked their cones. A particularly strong breeze blew causing one boys untied, brown, shoulder length hair to blow in the freckles boys face. He giggled."Alex!" He squealed. " Your hair is gonna get into my ice cream!""Whoops."Alex responded, grinning. He asked the other boy to hold his cone while he tied back his own hair."Hehe. You look so handsome." The freckled boy grinned."Why thank you!" He replied making finger guns and winking at the boy, causing them to both break out in a fit of laughter. After they had finished their cones they strolled home. Alex found a Tiger Lily plant growing on the side of the street. It's red and orange petals matched the sky and the speckles reminded him of the freckles on the boy he was walking with. He stopped and picked one and showed it to him."Aww it so pretty!" He exclaimed, awing at its beauty."Not as pretty as you Jackie."The boy hummed, placing the flower on the boys ear. Both of their cheeks tinted pink."That's not my name! My name is John!" He giggled."I know that!" Alex said in a 'Matter of fact' voice. "Can I still call you Jackie though?" John chuckled." Ok fine, you can call me Jackie." He sighed. Alex linked his hands with John and he looked up at him with surprise. He turned a deep pink and looked away."Come on Jackie!" Alex yelled pulling his arm forward, attempting to run. John sighed, stuck out his tongue at Alex and ran with him. Laughing the whole way.

When they got to Johns house they were out of breath but were still smiling and holding hands. Johns mother was on the porch sweeping and looked up when she heard the boys panting. She smiled."Aren't you boys a little to young for that?" She laughed. Alex looked at John."I'm already 7 Mom!" John yelled in protest."Yeah! And so am I!" Alex added, defending John. His mother laughed again."Well whatever float your boat I guess." His mom sighed, still smiling at their cuteness. After a few moments she began her sweeping again. The boys played outside until about 8 o clock when Johns mother said it was time to come in. She sent Alex on his way and they both watched as he departed towards his house. Once he was out of sight they stepped inside, a blast of cold air from the AC greeted them."You like him don't you?" His mother grinned."W-what?! N-no I don't!" John stuttered getting red. His mom just laughed and he stuck his tongue out at her. She sashayed out to the kitchen and left John to do his pouting.~~~~~Heh hope ya liked the first chapter!
