Sayori's pov

Monika and I decided are date would be simple. We went to a cute little coffee shop down the street.

We were walking to the coffee shop, and an awkward silence filled the air.

"So Sayori.," Monika started. "I wanna know a little more about you."

"Well- hmm... that guy named (Protag) is a childhood friend of mine," I replied.

"That's cool," Monika said.

    Silence filled the air.

    Again.

    1 minute...

    2 minutes...

    3 minutes...

I was just looking at my feet and kept walking. And then I felt Monikas hand grab mine.

We held hands walking to the coffee shop.

Monika's pov

The silence made a little Sunday morning coffee date seem more like a very awkward blind date. Sayori's face was flushed, and she was just looking at the ground lumbering along.
I reached my hand out for hers and gently grasped it. Her hands were cold. I noticed how abnormal her health had become in the first few weeks.

"H-hey Sayori.... Are you okay? Your hands are unbelievably cold," I asked with a concerned tone.

"I-I'm fine... I think it just runs in the family..." Sayori said quietly.

I chuckled hearing her ridiculous response.
"You really expect me to believe you have naturally frostbitten hands?" I giggled. "C'mon Sayori, what's up?"

Sayori's pov

Hearing Monika chuckle made my face turn crimson red. She was so damn cute...
"You really expect me to believe you have naturally frostbitten hands?" She giggled. "C'mon Sayori, what's up?"
       My depression was developing, but I couldn't tell her that. She may think differently of me, or take advantage of my emotions. I just replied with;
"Like I said I'm fine,"I slightly giggled. "I guess my hands got cold."

We arrived at the coffee shop, and walked inside.

"What would you like Sayori?" Monika asked me, pulling out her wallet.

"Umm... I'll have a pumpkin spice latté," I replied.

"You can go take a seat Sayori, I'll order our coffee," Monika assured.

I went and found a perfect little table by a window. It was about 7:15 in the morning, so the sun was still rising just a bit. I stared at the sunrise.

"It's so beautiful." I thought.

Monika came over with our coffee.

               She kissed my cheek.

"See you in school tomorrow, Sayori."
