Everly Clark
. . .
MY FRIEND once told me that losing someone can destroy someone. How losing someone can mess someone up, so bad. It was one of the worst kind of pain someone could go through. I didn't it understand it at that time, I mean how could I? I had everything. I didn't even know how real sadness felt. My life was one big, happy fairytale.
I frowned, looking at Kris in confusion, "K-Kris, are you okay?"
"Oh, I'm just peachy Everly," she smirked, taking a sip from her flask, "Even with my terrible grades, abusive dad, dead mother, and cheating boyfriend I'm absolutely peachy."
I stared at her in shock, opening my mouth slightly, "Kris, oh my gosh-"
"Stop," she interrupted me, looking at me with tears in her eyes, "You don't know me. You don't know where I've been and what I've been through. You never had to overcome what I had too, you've never lost the one person who meant the most to you. You've never cried over someone who you loved so much."
"You have no idea how much that messes a person up, Everly,"
Tears rolled down her cheek now, "You never had to go through that, you never had to feel that kind of pain."
I gripped the mug in my hand hard, making my fingertips going white. I was going to jail, Ricardo Hans was taking me to court.
Ricardo Hans. He was married.
I shook my head slightly, shocked by the fact that him being married bothered me more than him sending me to jail. It was so very pathetic. I was so pathetic.
Ding dong.
Startled, I looked at the front door in surprise and a bit of fear.
God, whenever someone showed up at my house unannounced it always ended up terribly.
I sighed and placed my mug down, walking to the door and opening up. Like always, it most definitely wasn't someone who I was expecting.
"R-Roni?" I choked out, my eyes wide. Oh my God. Veronica Hans was here. Ricky's adorable eleven-year-old sister was here.
She most definitely was no longer was eleven, she was probably nineteen turning twenty soon. She was by far one of the happiest girls I had ever met, always cracking jokes and smiling like a fool.
She bit her lip and then laughed bitterly, "God shut up, I can't even look at you right now."
I stared at her stunned, too scared to move or even breath at this moment. She, like Ricky obviously had changed the way they felt about me. I don't think I have ever seen anyone with as much hate and fury in their eyes as much as these two.
