J U N G K O O K
If I were to tell the story of us, of how it all started, we will have to date back years ago right even before we debuted. When I was like a lost lamb in the city, mislaid in the darkness, in need of the tiniest glint of hope in existence. And then he happened. Such light I've always seek for in the form of human. The only hope I've grasped on when I was at the threshold of losing everything—my Jimin hyung.
"My friend's coming tonight, I heard." Taehyung hyung blurts out in amidst of the silence while we are in the middle of our lunch. I did not bother to raise my head to look at him as he speaks, nor did I even care about what he's about to say. A new trainee, I guess.
"That Park Jimin the company's talking about? He's your friend?" Namjoon hyung asks, as if he was curious to know. Through my peripheral vision I could tell that the others are as eager to know as well about the new guy they're talking about.
And as much as I want to be as interested as how they are, it's not like it'll make a change for me. It's just going to be another trainee I'm gonna have to refrain like how I do to others. I heaved a sigh, sometimes it really sucks to be me especially when I myself am an introvert. I'm not really good when it comes to socializing with people.
You see, I am a trainee. We all are trainees under Bighit Entertainment from the music industry. An unknown company, to be specific. We are recruited as trainees, and could be potential members of the boyband they're planning to debut around midyear.
"Jungkook, are you okay?" I snapped out of my thoughts when Hoseok hyung who's just sitting beside me poked me by the arms. I immediately turned to face him with my eyes a bit widen, clueless of what he's pointing out. "You seem silent today."
"But Hobi hyung, he's always silent. I kind of envy you you're the only one he actively responds to." Yoongi hyung complains in a joking manner that the other trainees we are with second on. I lowered my head and shyly smiled at them in apology. I don't know why, I just can't bring myself to talk to them like a casual friend or something, I don't feel comfortable.
"Don't put him into pressure, you guys. Don't force yourself if you can't manage to speak with us, Jungkook. It's fine." Namjoon hyung assures to me and I nodded in response. Seconds later, their conversation once shifted again about the new guy and let me be with my silence. I let out a breathe in relief, I'm really thankful somehow they can cope with such person like me.
There's five of us who lives together at a small dorm near the company, which just occupies a rented floor on a certain building that offers a cheap payment.
There's Kim Namjoon hyung, the one of the oldest trainees of the company. Some says he was supposed to already debut back then, along with his peers, aiming for a hip-hop group debut. But things didn't go in accord to the plan, the original line up of members soon left one by one and only he stayed, still believing someday he'll make it, someday he'll be able to debut and maybe it was just not the right time yet. I heard the idea of such hip-hop group is still alive, and is actually the boyband they're just searching for members to fill the vacant line up in order to carry on the plan of debut that was once retracted.
Another one's Min Yoongi hyung, the most serious amongst us all when it comes to music. An inborn producer, as if he was really born to make music. I once have heard his demo tracks and I must say he's really good. Not the best yet, but I believe he'll get there, just a few revisions and amendment and he's good.
