Stillness swirls around her. The cement walls freeze her skin. Tingling sensations infect her arms and legs. The lingering smell of something metallic and something familiar makes their way into her nose, which then crinkles in disgust. Coarse breaths fill the air. The heavy panting is interrupted, something is spat on the unforgiving floor, and the unsteady breathing continues.
The softest touch connects with her skin. "It's time to wake up, Y/n." Her eyebrows furrow and her shoulders jerk, pulling tightly on the cloth restraints on her wrists. "Don't do that, Y/n. I tried my best to be gentle with you. Don't hurt yourself now." She cracks her eyes open only to be met with the face of darkness. Nothing. "Good morning, Y/n."
She blinks again and again. Her senses returning to her. Why is it so cold? "S- Sangwoo, is that you? Why can't I move?" Her groggy voice comes out in strangled whispers. The tingling begins to come to a stop and the uncomfortable feeling is replaced with one of aching pain. Startled, and still unable to see, she rips her arms in every direction, only making the sheet tighten around her wrists. "Sangwoo!" Her voice cracks and her normal tone cuts in. "What's going on?!"
"Stop moving!"
She ceases all movement at once, her blood running cold in her veins and her breath becoming hitched in her throat. Startling her even further, the smallest of kisses is placed on her supple lips. Sangwoo holds her face in place as he looms over the blindfolded girl. "Y/n, do you love me?"
His sweet words do nothing to cure the unsettling fear within her. "Of course I do." A tear slips down from beneath the dark fabric. "But what is going on? I'm scared. I can't see anyth-"
"Are you afraid of me? I haven't even showed you anything yet." Maybe I was wrong about you.
Silence fills the dark basement and a heavy weight sets in Sangwoo's chest. Nevertheless, his fingers flex around the sharp knife in his hand. Just as he is about to drag the edge of the blade across her perfect skin, a small voice reminds him of who Y/n is, has been, and will always be.
"...I want to hold you."
Crystals spill from under the cloth that protect her eyes from the truth. Sangwoo kneels down next to her, abandoning the blade some several feet away. He brings his fingers to the knotted fabric at the back of her head. He hesitates, "Do you really mean that?"
She bites her lip to prevent herself from releasing a sob as she nods her head before resting it in the crook of her boyfriend's warm and welcoming neck. "You make me feel safe."
Sangwoo rips the cloth from her head, careful not to hurt her while fast enough to surprise her. Y/n's eyes blur as her eyelids flutter open and shut. Her eyes finally adjust, but she wishes they hadn't.
"No, no, no," air wisps from between her lips.
In this basement where Sangwoo had once shielded her, why? A pudgy middle aged man lays slouched in a corner, his breathing slow, raspy, and labored. His sausage like fingers clutch at his gut where his shirt is dyed a dark maroon. "S- Sangwoo?"
"Yes?"
"Sangwoo, what happened?" His lips crack into a smile. Eyes dig into her from across the room and it takes her a moment to find the source. A scrawny figure sits crouched in a corner. His hands are jerking in his pants as he watches her feverishly. "I want to go home!" She speaks up, ripping her gaze away from the grinning monster.
"Don't I make you feel safe?" Sangwoo's sudden drop in tone and raised eyebrows forces Y/n to give him all of her attention.
She slowly nods. "You do... but-"
Sangwoo's glare digs into her, causing another tear to roll down her cheek. "'But?'" He echoes.
"Did you do this?"
Hearts are broken. Final breaths are taken. Lustful eyes gleam with a hunger for satisfaction.
Am I next?
"Yes."
