"Please Y/n, I don't want to!"
Y/n sits on her bottom outside of the bathroom door and laughs. "You have to!" She giggles with what Sangwoo could only describe as a cute accent. "You promised!"
"Please," Sangwoo groans on the other side of the door. He should have never made that bet. He had gotten ahead of himself. He never thought that the eight year old Y/n would be able to beat him at crazy eights. Just last summer he was always able to cheat or fool her into losing. "I don't wanna wear this!"
"You. Have. To!" Y/n's face is completely overtaken by a large smile as she awaits Sangwoo's outfit reveal. "If you don't come out, I'll just have to come in!"
"N- no! You can't do that!"
"Then you better come out!"
"B- but Y/n!"
"Five!" Y/n counts as she stands up. "Four..." she slowly creeps closer to the door. "Threeee..." She puts her hand on the doorknob ready to throw the door open. "Two!"
Beyond embarrassed, Sangwoo looks at himself in the mirror.
"One..."
He has no choice. Right as Y/n begins to say 'zero', Sangwoo pipes up first. "Okay! Okay! I'm coming out! Just step away from the door so that you don't get hurt."
Hearing light steps move away, Sangwoo slowly cracks the door open. Unable to look at the girl he's fallen for, Sangwoo looks down to the side and at the floor.
"Y- You're so cute!!" Y/n stutters out. A blushing Sangwoo stands vulnerable in front of her wearing a bright yellow pikachu onesie. Shyly, the little girl walks up to Sangwoo and hugs him tightly. "Warm... and soft."
Sangwoo stares down at her with his mouth agape. Is this all it takes to get her to hold him like this? This may be the best bet he has ever lost. "W-Whatever." Y/n remains attached to him and she presses her soft cheek against his. An uncomfortable urge grows in Sangwoo, causing him to lightly push her off of him. "Let's go play the game your dad bought."
No longer connected with Sangwoo, Y/n frowns slightly. "Game? Okay." She wants to hold him, but he keeps pushing her away. Last summer she was always allowed to touch him, but this year something has changed with him. 'Is he getting tired of me? Does he not want to be with me anymore? Am I annoying him? I did make him wear the outfit... and sister says I'm annoying all the time.' Lost in thought, Y/n absentmindedly follows Sangwoo through the house, her spirits getting lower and lower with each step.
"Y/n?" Sangwoo's hands clasp either side of the younger girl's face. She can't remember when they had stopped walking or when he had turned around to face her. "What's wrong? Why are you crying?" His thumbs lightly wipes away the salty tears that slowly slip down her cheeks.
Y/n falters, flustered and struggling to string words together. Her chest heaves repeatedly and her soft hands hold onto Sangwoo's as they gently cup her cheeks. "I- I'm stupid," she finally chokes out. Of course, she realizes. He wouldn't be so concerned if he didn't care.
Not really understanding what's going on, Sangwoo pulls Y/n into his arms and holds her steady. Once her tears dissolve into hiccups, he lifts her up princess style and brings her over to the tv. All the way, Y/n clenches the fabric of his pikachu onesie tightly and buries her head in his chest.
Opting out of playing games, Sangwoo flicks the tv onto her favorite show and sits down on the couch with the girl in his lap. Eventually, her hiccups subside and Sangwoo uses his soft bright yellow sleeve to wipe her nose.
"Thank you, Sangwoo." Forcing herself to fight against the embarrassment, she presses a light kiss against his cheek. Immediately, his face flushes into a dark pink.
