Chapter 1

"Do you remember when we first met?" Louis' hair was a mess, freshly cut grass and leaves in his hair as he lay down beside me, staring at the cloud dappled sky.

"Yeah, I refused to tell you where I lived because you are a boy." I chuckled at my immature 7-year-old self. One of the many things I can never see differently is how we met; I can't imagine not having Lou as my best friend. We are joined at the hip, if he's home I don't leave his house unless he does, when one is ill the other is by their side. We are brother and sister.

"Then I teased the hell out of you for being the youngest in the class." Louis laughed, his eyes squinting and lips curving into his signature lopsided grin. He was currently off work for a few weeks since he hadn't actually seen any of us back in Doncaster for months now. Daisy and Pheobe constantly questioned when their big brother would be back, and it broke all our hearts when Jay, I or the others had to say we don't really know.

But he's here now, and isn't leaving for a while.

"It's weird with you not being there when I'm on tour." I turned towards Lou and cocked an eyebrow, his eyes staring at nothing until they caught my face and he grinned "As in its weird that I'm surrounded by the boys and don't see my best friend. The boys say it's like having two of my rounds when you're with us." When he laughed his blue eyes twinkled and the laugh lines on his face showed.

"Louis!" Daisy, Pheobe and Fizzy pulled Lou to his feet before proceeding to jump on my stomach "Ariah! Come on the trampoline with us!" the twins chorused in sugar sweet voices.

"Yeah Aria comes on the trampoline with us!" Louis mimicked them, his voice a full octave higher, shrilling in my ear as he pulled in up and spun me excitedly in the air.

"Sorry children, I need to go help Jay with tea." I hugged the girls with a sad smile, but failed as Lou pulled a puppy dog face that had his lip sticking out, causing me to uncontrollably laugh.

"You ruin the fun!" He pouted, then turned to the girls "Leave her let got enjoy ourselves." I chuckled again at this, shaking my head, making earn Louis sticking his tough out at me. He was such a child.

"Hey Jay." I sang, stepping into the open and airy kitchen. Jay stood leaning on the counter, a cup of tea in hand. "Anything I can help you with?" I poured myself a cup and sat on the counter opposite her. This was like my home; most days I spent here with the girls and Jay even if Lou was away. I love them like family, well they sort of are.

"I just finished it all sweetie. But thank you for asking." Jay smiled and I nodded, the smell of lamb wafted from the oven. I looked through the window into the garden, the sun shining and Lou and the girls' faces were bright. They all had the biggest smiles on their faces even though all they were really doing was laughing at each other. That, I thought, would be the best photograph right now.

"Good that he's home huh?" I smiled at Jay, who had joined me in looking at them mucking around. She grinned, looking down at her now close to empty cup. Her face then fell on mine and a knowing expression crossed her features. "What?"
