There were so many kids. Most of them Sherlock had never before seen, which was wonderful because now he could at least pretend to be somewhat normal. He scanned the crowd, trying to find kids he knew that he could be around without wanting to die or kill them, and also looking for any kids he could possibly get to be his friend. He saw Molly Hooper hanging around that Moriarty kid and made a mental note to try to be kind to them, and then he saw Greg hanging around Irene Adler and Sally Donavan, and made yet another mental note to stay away from the three of them. He also saw Mr. Anderson and Mrs. Hudson trying to get kids to be quiet as they all looked for, what Sherlock presumed, was their cabin mates and friends. Sherlock walked up to Mrs. Hudson, what with her being the only person who he liked to be around.
"Good evening, Mrs. Hudson." he grinned.
"Oh! Oh, my dear Sherlock! I had no idea you would be here!" she smiled and gave him a quick hug before turning to Anderson "Sherlock is here! Does he have a cabin mate yet?" they both watched as Mr. Anderson glared at Sherlock and then shuffled through some papers for a minute.
"Oh, yes. Mr. Sherlock Holmes is to share the cabin bunk 221, part A- no, B, sorry, with ah, Mr. John Watson. There will also be Miss Molly Hooper and-" he cleared his throat "Miss Sally Donavan." Before anyone could say another word, there was a loud buzzing sound. All the kids looked up to find Mycroft holding a microphone, waiting for the noise to die down. Once he was satisfied, he began.
"Good evening, and welcome to the gathering of Bakersville Highs first summer camp! We will be going to the Mortui ostium summer camp in Iceland. Four buses will be arriving shortly, so listen closely. The first bus will be for girls with last name starting with "A" through "J" and the second bus will be for girls with the last name starting with "K" through "Z". The last two buses will be for the boys with the same set up, in case anyone couldn't figure that one out." he smirked as the kids realized they'd all been insulted, but continued before the teachers could scold him. "Now, for the rules. There will be no drugs, alcohol, fighting or any sexual activities of any kind." he paused as they kids complained saying things like "How are we going to have fun if we can't get wasted?!" or "But I brought the condoms!" he then continued once his glare managed to shut them up. "Any violation of these rules will mean an immediate suspension from any and all camp activities, and the earliest flight back home, as well as a call to your guardians. Also, you are all being assigned a "buddy". This person is the one you will sit next to on any plane rides, and will be your cabin mate and activity partner. Any questions or concerns?" Molly Hoopers' hand shot up "Yes?"
"What if we have a problem with our assigned buddy?" Mycroft seemed to think this over, as if he hadn't thought of it yet, and Sherlock rolled his eyes because he knew his brother was simply trying to spare the girls feelings since, a year ago, she came over to ask Sherlock to be her date to some dance, and ended up running out of the house in tears.
"If you have any problems or concerns, talk to the adult that is assigned to your cabin, and they in turn will talk to me. Any other questions?" no one raised their hand "Good. The buses will be here shortly. I suggest you find your assigned buddy, get into your cabin groups, which will consist of two boys and two girls, and wait with your cabin adults." he turned off the microphone and went over to talk to some teachers. The kids began to swarm around, getting into groups and waiting for the buses.
"Excuse me? Are you Sherlock?" a warm hand touched Sherlocks' shoulder and turned him around, and he saw that the small voice belonged to a sandy blonde boy that was at least half a foot shorter than he was.
"Yes. I assume you're John Watson? My cabin mate?" the boy nodded. "Very good then. The buses should be here soon." Sherlock turned around just as the buses arrived, and all the kids began walking to their buses.
