Alina took a deep breath and tried to make her heartbeat from bursting. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes until her heartbeat slowed down a bit. Opening her eyes Alina gave a quick glance at the book. Silently she closed it and got out of her bed. And gently Alina slid the old book back in its spot behind the books, at the bookshelf.
Alina walked on her tippy toes to her bed stand and blew the candle. Then she got into her bed and closed her eyes hoping that sleep would come to her right away without dreams. But sadly it didn’t. Alina was standing at a clearing of a forest. But the strange part about the forest was that it was divided in four parts.
The first part had orange and red autumn trees shining brightly. The second part had beautiful trees covered with snow and snowflakes slowly drifting down. The third part of the forest was full of blooming trees covered with pink cherry blossoms. There were small plants that were sprouting like at the beginning of spring. And the last part was covered with thick lush green trees which also had many wildflowers with many different colors.
Alina stared at the clearing with awe. She never saw so much beauty but she felt that something was wrong. Then she realized that there were three faint figures at the clearing standing there and loudly talking. Taking a deep breath and mustering all of her courage Alina walked up to the nearest woman and gently touched her shoulder.
And asked, “Excuse me but do you know where we are?”
The young woman turned around looking quite angry that someone had disturbed her conversation. She had long black hair and deep green eyes. The lady was wearing a dark green gown with flowers. On her head she had a wreath of leaves and flowers. But deep down Alina knew that this woman was older than time.
“Yes”, the beautiful woman said irritably. “You are at the border of all sea-”But when the woman looked at Alina her face paled and she motioned to the other two women to look.
“Sisters! Look she looks exactly like Winter!!” The beautiful woman exclaimed. The two other women looked at Alina and their eyes widened.
“Yes she does”, exclaimed a brown haired lady coming closer to her sister to look at Alina. She had dark blue eyes and she wore a pink gown with cherry blossom designs circled with green vines. On her head she had a wreath made out of cherry blossoms.
“Let me see Spring.” Said the last woman, pushing through the two young women. And by looking at her you could tell the she was the oldest out of the three sisters. She had reddish brown hair and had dark brown eyes. She wore an orange gown with decorated with autumn leaves. On her head she had a wreath made out of red and orange leaves.
“Yes”, said the oldest sister slowly nodding. “She’s her daughter.” She concluded
“Is she human?” Asked the woman in the green gown fearfully.
“No… she’s not human. No human can dream about the border. Not even in a dream.” The woman in the pink gown said her eye widening with fear.
“Does Winter know about this” Hissed the woman in the green.
“She must have sent her here in a dream Summer”, said the woman in the orange gown her face twisting in anger. “Curse her” She spat.
“Hush, Autumn. Winter may hear you; don’t you remember what happened last time? She is more powerful than us right now because it is her season.” Snapped the woman in the pink gown.
Alina woke up, her heart beating rapidly. She looked around wildly and realized that it was just a dream. It took a couple of minutes for Alina to realize that it was morning, with the faint chipping of birds and the small rays of sunlight peeking through her thick silk curtains. Then she wondered.
Who is Winter?
The picture on the right is the autumn forest. Sorry but I couldn't find a picture of the border of all seasons. Thanks for your votes and comments. God bless you:) Matthew 7:7
