When I get to school we go straight to the table, like it’s muscle memory. I sit down in my regular seat, the day goes on like normal until third period. We didn't get to finish our projects from earlier, so we had to work on them. So, I got to talk to Alec for the whole class period.
Once lunch rolled around I was starving, only problem is the school food tastes like garbage. The pizza they always serve is pretty much just cardboard and fake rubbery cheese. They never really serve any real food.
I get past lunch by stealing food off of other people plates since I never have money for lunch and I’m too afraid to ask Pa for any. All my friends let me pick of their plates because they know what it's like at home for me. Lots of them offer to take me in I always decline because I have my little brother and I don't want to be a bother to then by having then take care of me.
Once lunch is over I watch as ask the teenagers scurry too their next class.  They are all in a rush that no one notices the small freshman get knocked over as all her papers soaring in the air. I quickened my pace to run help her. I had the same thing happen to me when I was a freshman, only difference was no one helped me.
When I got to her, I smiled and knelt down to pick up some papers. She was quiet as she said “thank you.” “No problem, I had the same thing happen to me when I was a freshman,” I tell her with a small grin. She giggled a little then said “I’m new, my names Ruby.” “I’m Amber.” I say as we pick up the last few papers and stand up. “Thank you so much.” she says with a full smile. “You're welcome, hey if you ever need someone to hang out with or someone to sit with at lunch come find me. I need to get to class which way are you going?” I ask while looking the clock right above her head.  She looks frantically and says “umm. Art, I go to art.” I am almost taken aback by the fact that she is in art Ida my passion I express art many different ways. “I love art, I hope you have Mr. Steven not Mrs. Myere. She pretty bad.” I go on to say that she dress code for the runner things.  Then I walk the other direction to go to class, i wave her of and say “See you later?” She nodes as she walks off.
