This story has been my favorite to ever write and I'm so happy you all enjoy it! I'm trying not to rush into things too quickly between Mary and Niall but tell me how I'm doing in the comments!

Seriously don't be afraid to comment on any recent or old chapters. And talk to me if you have any other suggestions for the future ;)

{Mary}

               I jerk awake with a gasp and an elbow to the figure underneath me. I hear a groan and then a flash from the window along with an extremely loud clap of thunder. I jump about ten feet in the air before pulling the covers over my head and hiding my head under my pillow, shaking.

              I have an enormous phobia of thunderstorms which can be a real nightmare when they happen in the middle of the night. I feel Niall shift his body to sit up before he he just lays right back down and lifting up the pillow I'm hiding under.

"Hey" he speaks softly, his voice still adjusting from his sleep, "Are you okay?" His eyes look concerning.

             Another lightning strike and flashes behind Niall and by the the time I hear the thunder I'm flying of the bed and trembling in the ground trying my hardest to keep my breathing under control.

"Mary!" he jumps out of the covers and lifts me to my feet. He must have no idea what's going on with me. I've never told him because there haven't been many at all this summer. And this one is the worst we've had in a long time.

             Another flash and grumble and I'm sobbing into Niall' s chest with his arms wrapped around me tightly. I dig my nails into his back as he rubs mine and tries to comfort me.

            I take a deep breath and try to fill my nose and head with his scent to try to calm me down enough to explain everything to him.

"Shh" Niall whispers into me ear and then rests his lips on my forehead. "Your okay. Your gonna be okay. Relax" He mumbles into my skin and slowly pulls me away from him.

"Thank you Niall" I squeak out and then feel like the wind was knocked out of me when another round my worst nightmare comes around. I was not ready for this. I did not prepare my things to calm me down or to help me sleep. Nothing is packed or here. I had no warning whatsoever it was even going to rain!

"Here" Niall takes me hand, "Follow me"

            I follow him down the hallway of his bedroom, through the door off the kitchen, (which I thought was just an old closet that was locked) down the carpeted stairs, and into the back corner of the dark room we're in.

            Niall pulls my arm down as he sits on the carpet in what I'm guessing is his basement. His hand leaves mine so I clench it into my other hand waiting anxiously for more grumbling thunder or a flash of lightning to suddenly bring light to the room.

"Lights on or off?" Niall's calming voice comes from across the room.

             I hesitate. The light will make me able to trust my surroundings and hopefully stay awake and calmed in the brightness, but what's more comforting and relaxing than a room in darkness to set your thoughts straight while having Niall next to you.

"Off" I say clearly now regaining my steady breathing and words in the dark room with no thunder or lightning.

"You sure?" he asks, not clearly convinced.
