Everything had always come natural to them.  

Ever since the day they met, even through that thin layer of awkwardness which permeated the air of their first encounter, everything had fallen into place like it was meant to be. 

Back when they were all soft cheeks and gentle smiles, Taehyung and Jimin had come together in what felt like a miracle, a fortuitous chance in the scheme of life.   

Back when they were all giddy chuckles and hopeful glances, it had felt like a dream. 

Now, while the world changes around them and they look at it with more mature eyes, Taehyung and Jimin are still living that dream.

Taehyung  was usually the first to rise between them, his old morning routines still engraved in his bones and awaking him at ungodly hours.  

Right after opening his eyes he would be a bit grumpy, a grimace curving his lips down when looking at the alarm on the bedside table and seeing that he was up too early yet again. 

A single glance at the body crouched next to him was always enough to ease his features, though. Getting to see Jimin peacefully asleep, with his guard completely down and lost in his embrace was a nice reward, all things considered.  

The other had such a deep sleep that it was almost impossible to wake him up. It took Tae a lot of caresses and little pecks to finally see his eyelids flutter, but he was more than happy to comply. He loved watching as his gaze focused on him and turned from hazy to fond in the matter of few seconds, his raspy voice greeting him in the sweetest way. 

It is always Tae who wakes up first, so Jimin is surprised when he opens his eyes one night only to find the room still covered in darkness, Tae's light snoring coming from somewhere beneath him. A quick glance at his phone tells him that it is a little past four in the morning.  

He carefully gets up and goes to the kitchen to drink a glass of water before padding back to their room, quietly opening the blinds to let in some of the moonlight that was shining outside. The moon was big and bright that night, casting a soft white hue all around the room. It was beautiful. 

Jimin tucks himself under the covers once again, trying not to wake Tae up. When he settles and looks over at him, his breath quite literally catches in his throat. 

Tae was splayed gracefully on his side, with one arm under the cushion and his cheek smushed on top of it, his plump lips slightly open and settled in a cute pout.  The light coming from the window touched his profile enhancing every curve and dip of his face, the shadow of his eyelashes fluttering ever so slightly over his cheeks. His black hair was spread in what looked like an angelic halo, almost tinted silver. 
Jimin is enamoured. 

He scoots a little closer and, as if on cue, Tae wraps his body tightly around him.  

Thinking back, it had been like that since day one; their bodies always moved by their own accord to tangle with each other, even if it was just to intertwine their fingers. It's as if gravitational laws bend around them, bringing the two together in a way or another.  

Jimin likes to think it is their destiny, to find each other even in the most crowded of places. It happened when they first met, it still happens every day.  A moment doesn't pass in which he is not sure that, if he were to look up, he'd meet Tae's eyes.  

Because that is how things have always been for them --natural. 

A soft sigh escaping from Tae  takes him back to reality. 

He embraces the taller boy in his arms, moving him around to settle him in a comfortable position with his head over his chest. 

He starts carding his fingers through his soft locks, pulling a bit at the roots just in the way he knows Tae loves, and the regular movement almost drifts him off to sleep again; but then Tae stirs in his slumber and soon after he drowsily raises his head to look at him. 

His eyes are still puffy and half-closed, his gaze unfocused, and Jimin almost coos for how adorable he looks. Tae hooks his chin over his chest and blinks lazily at him. 

"Ji- " he stops midsentence to stifle a yawn. "Why are you already up? 'Is still so early." 

Jimin continues to gently pet him on the head. "Dunno. I woke up randomly and I couldn't fall back asleep." 

"Were you thinking about something?" 

He smiles. "Yeah, actually I was," he takes Tae's hand in his, laces their fingers together and brings them to his lips, "I was thinking about you." 

Taehyung's cheeks and ears turn a soft red, but his lips curve in a pleased smile.  

"Hope they were happy thoughts, then." He grins cheekily,showing his boxy smile and Jimin can swear he sees stars in his crescents right at that moment. The moon outside is suddenly less bright. 

"The happiest," he gently kisses the back of his hand, "Was thinking of how beautiful you are and how much you mean to me." 

Tae visibly melts at these words and crouches down to press their mouths together in a soft kiss; their lips are a bit dry from sleep but full of warmth all the same. 

Jimin sighs in the kiss and after what feels like a sweet eternity, Taehyung detaches their lips. He wiggles around and puts his head between Jimin's neck and shoulder. 

They stay silent for a while, content to be in each other's presence and with their rhythmic breaths to lull them. 

Just when Taehyung was about to fall asleep, Jimin kisses the crown of tae's head.
"I love you, Tae." 

Tae smilies cheekily and sleepily. "I love you, Jiminie." 

 Right before closing his eyes, jimin thinks that he wouldn't mind this being a dream. He's sure that even if he were to wake up from this reality, they'd still find a way to meet each other in between. 

Because that's how things are for them. 

After all, it's their destiny.
