Later that day i was still thinking about how the chem room floor had started shaking so abruptly. I couldnt get my head around the fact that i was the only one who had felt it, i mean, when theres a mini earthquake during class people notice right? Or am i just having halluciniations which cannot be explained? The rest of the day after chem had gone quite normally, although everybody looked at me weirdly and asked if I was feeling alright. I had no idea what to tell anybody, besides that I was starting to get a headake.
I start digging through my bag, hoping to find the little bottle of tylenol I always have with me. Somehow, they aren't there, but I dont recall taking them out.
"I must be going crazy," I decided, "I mean, I'm even talking to mysef!"
It may not sound like the biggest thing, but I'm not the kind of person who walks around talking to themselves. That's Hayley, not me. The day just kept getting weirder and weirder. I couldn't explain any of it.
Jumping on the bus, I notice that I'm the only one who has gotten on. Looking around, I wonder what the hell was going on. I glance at my watch, and feel my eyes grow wide when I realise that I just skipped my last period in school, as it was still five minutes before school was supposed to let out for the day. I decide to leave it, and see what the teacher says to me tomorrow in class. Mrs. Cass was one of the strictest teachers I've ever had, and her class is not one that you want to skip.
Finally, after what felt like hours, Brooke and Hayley climb onto the bus behind a bunch of niner boys.
"Where were you during geography? Mrs. Cass gave us our exam review. I cant believe it's almost summer!" She goes on, not even waiting for an answer to her question. "I told her that you weren't feeling good by the way; said that you had to go home because you were throwing up."
"Gross." Hayley made a face. "were you actually throwing up?"
"No." I sighed. " but I wish I had been so I could've gone home sooner."
At that moment, Kenzie was pulled onto the bus, with her hand wrapped around a boys who I have never seen before. He looked way too old for her though. Before she sat down in the seat behind mine, she turned arund and planted a big wet kiss onto his cheek, which I noticed was full of stubble.
"So how old is he Kenzie?"
"Eighteen." She replied with a smirk on her face. "Never thought I would be able to get someone like that huh?"
"What the hell do you think youre doing? Hes six years older than you! You're twelve years old, you don't need to be with a guy who isn't even going to be in school next year." I exclaimed.
"Frankly, I dont care what you think, because I like him, and he told me that anything I ever wanted could be mine."
"When did you meet this guy Kenzie?"
"About two hours ago, when I was skipping my last two classes of the day."
"Moms going to kill you." I stated.
"Only if she finds out" she winks at me "somehow I dont think that youre going to tell her because if you do I'll never talk to you again."
"I dont have to tell her, the school calls a students parents every time they're kid skips a class!"
"That's already taken care of." She laughs, puts her earbuds in her ears and starts listening to music so loud I can hear the words from where I'm sitting.
I turn around, and notice that both Hayley ad Brooke are sitting staring at me with they're mouths open so wid it's like they're trying to lick the ground.
"What?" I say "I have a weird sister, I know."

When the bus stops at my stop, Kenzie rushes to get off the bus. By the time I have gotten off, I notice that she's already jogged halfway home. I walk home slowly, trying to take my time. Kenzie has already gone into her room by the time I've gotten in the door.
"How was school?" Mom calls from the living room.
"Pretty good." I reply as I walk into the room and sit on the couch. I can't help but notice how my mother and I look nothing alike, although I can see her resemblance to Kenzie; they could pass as sisters, but, just like Kenzie, my mother and I are complete opposites. I look at a picture of my dad sitting on the wall above the bookcase. I don't look anything like him either. There are picture albums sitting on the bookcase, so I reach over and pick one up.
I feel Moms eyes on me, so I look up and shrug. "Just wanting to see what everyone in the family looked like before I was born. My mother smiles, and looks down at her book. I can tell she doesn't quite believe that that's all I'm looking for, as her shoulders are quite stiff.
Looking through the photos,I notice that nobody in my family has any of the same features as me. Everybody has blond hair, some even have red hair, but nobody in the family but me has even a strand of brown. They all have dark blew or gray eyes, nothing light. I can't help but wonder where my features appeared from.
"Mom, who did I get my features from? I mean, I've been looking through this album for the past half an hour, and I haven't once seen somebody who I looked like."
"Oh, I'm not sure honey." She replies after some hesitation. "I've never really thought about that before.
But I can tell she's lying. Her eyes look wide and haunted, she's gotten paler than I've ever seen her, and she's chewing on the inside of her cheek, something she does every time shes hiding something.
I look away fom her and walk upstaires.
