Chapter 5
Guess what happened.
Yep, Lely started to complain that Payson was injured and he can't travel and blah blah blah, but I totally disagreed. Even Payson agreed with me. Take that, Lely.
"We can't slow down our pace of traveling because of me," Payson insisted. "We have to keep going." I eyed Lely from the corner of my eye, but Lely completely ignored me.
"He can get better any minute," Bryan observed.
"Great," I concluded, "heading towards Africa, six hundred and seventy four miles ahead, going straight, then turning fifty three degrees to the right, then continue going straight for another two hundred miles."
"Oh Gods of Olympus, that's a long trip," Lely complained.
"It's the only chance we got, unless you guys want to tire me out from carrying you guys." Guess what, everybody voted for that idea. Snowflake and Chocolate chatted while I created air bubbles for everyone as they jumped into the sea. That was wasting literally one fourth of my energy.
I really want to fly. I mean, seriously. I've been thinking about this the whole time. If I can fly, that can speed up our traveling process.
"Maybe we can go across Africa diagonally," Lely observed. "That'll be faster."
"There might be monsters hunting us down," I pointed out.
"Please," Bryan begged.
"If Payson needs more time healing..." I started, but I didn't get to finish.
"I'm alright," Payson muttered, even though he still sounded weak. All eyes were on me. I sighed.
"Fine, but if you guys get in trouble, don't blame me." Everybody gave me quizzical and puzzling looks.
"Hey, you're the leader of this quest," Lely said. I received another meaningful look. I clenched my fists with annoyance. Wow, I never knew people can get on my nerves so easily. Wait, was it obvious the first time you met me?
"The good thing was if you weren't related to Poseidon, then I'll be dead by now," Lely said, looked over the map over the world she had brought.
"I thought I earn a 'thanks' from you," I smiled, but she only shot me a glare.
"Yeah, I should really say thanks for almost killing me because of your plan," Lely scowled.
"Hey, if I did surrender, we would be brought to the Underworld, which wouldn't really be a really fun time."
"Should I drop you a hundred feet from the sky?"
"I would love to try that," I said. "Maybe I can learn how to fly."
"Well, you claimed that you couldn't," Lely put her hands on her hips.
"Well, I didn't say that I can't!" I argued back. I said the word "can't" in a mocking tone. Lely decided to stop talking to me and continued to look at her map.
"We have to at least try to go over diagonally across Africa, it's a faster route," Lely claimed.
"I know that! I already told you if you guys get captured by these monsters who want to stop, capture, and kill us out there, it's not my fault," I repeated. Lely nodded, her eyebrows scrunched together.
"I guess your answer concludes our plan," Lely answered.
"I know that," I said as we shot out in the sky. "Should I jump down? I seriously want to know if I can fly or not-" I was interrupted by Lely's words.
