// Nia' Cole //

(It is Friday now)

I am in my room dancing. Dancing has been a hobby of mine for forever. I actually used to have a dance coach. Even my mom used to dance so she taught me a lot of things. She was also my inspiration. She was deaf and started to dance because she could feel the sound waves or vibrations from the music which influenced me to start dancing.

But after my mom died I kind of gave that up too and went to volleyball. I still play volleyball and will probably find somewhere to play soon. I don't think the school does volleyball though.

I'm laying on my bed listening to music when I hear a knock on my door. "Yeah?" I say and turn the music off. My dad comes in, "Hey kiddo? Whatcha doing?"

"Nothing much, just listening to music." I say smiling. "Okay I was just checking in."

"Hey Nia you are gonna hang out with me and the guys right?" Kion comes into my room and asks. "Um probably not, I was just gonna let you guys hang." "Well I want you to hang with us just like you did with my friends back home okay?" "Alright I can." I say putting my earbuds back in. He nods and walks back into his room from my bathroom.

I hear the doorbell ring and the dogs jump off the couch and start barking then I was just about to get up off the couch to it but I hear Kion from upstairs, "IVE GOT IT!" he basically screams. "Quieter please?" I ask. He didn't even hear me.

I bring the dogs back over to the couch and hold them there by their collars so they don't scare the guys or slobber all over them.

They all come barreling in the door giving bro hugs and screaming. Then they all come into the living room, "Y'all remember my lil' sis right?" Kion says putting me in a headlock and giving me a nuggie. "Oh yeah Nia right?" Shawn asks.

"Yeah," prying myself out of Kion's grip. "And guys this is my litter brother and dad." Kion says pointing to each of them. "I think they can tell which is which dumbass." I say and they all laugh. Kion just gives me a glare.

"Nia go away no one likes you." Kion says I just laugh and run up to my room. I put on some running clothes and grab the dogs' leashes so we can go out for a run.

I peak my head out of the door to the patio, "Dad I'm going for a run I will be back back later!" "Okay be safe, take your phone, no more than 25 minutes or I'm coming to pick you up, and go put on leggings instead of those shorts." He says. I nod and go change very quickly.

After that I hook the dogs up and run out the front door and start running down the sidewalk.

After about 10 minutes of running I find a park. I let the dogs get a drink and I go ahead and start running back.

Before I can really start running back home what looks like a mother and a daughter come over to me.

I take my earphones out and say, "Hi!" The mother waves then starts to sign to me. I watch her very closely because my signing is rusty. (Signing is how deaf people talk) Hi my daughter would love to pet your dogs. Do you mind? I smile then sign to her No I don't mind at all they are very friendly.

The little girl then walks up to Lassie and Duke and starts to pet them. What are their names? The little girl signs. I spell out their names for her, L-A-S-S-I-E and D-U-K-E.

Well they are adorable the little girl signs again. Thank you. After that the mother and daughter left and I start running back home with a huge smile on my face.

It's been two years since I've had to sign. It brings back memories of my mom.

I run out to the patio just as my dad was about to come inside. "Great timing I was just about to go looking for you." My dad smiles. I somewhat ignored what he just said and I say, "Dad, guess what!?" "What is it?" He asked amused
