Word spread fast through the school. A single girl fighting a whole gang of groupies and winning? Against the main male groupie? It was unheard of.
Suddenly, people were following Caila around for protection. She didn't mind, as long as they didn't disturb her or get in her way, she paid them little mind. Why should she? The only thing she'd done was defend someone who needed defending.
Of course, the outcast group of students didn't see it that way. They saw a girl, someone who was a no one, like them, defeat someone who had a name, a reputation, and a scary one at that. Caila had become something of an idol, a person they could look up to.
One of those people, though she wasn't exactly a nobody but still irrelevant, was Violet. She was from Japan, barely speaking and nervous all the time because of the language barrier she had. Now, she could understand English, but that was different from speaking it.
She heard and saw Caila, someone who was like her, irrelevant but not shunned, fight for someone who was below them, fight for a defenseless person, and something sparked within her. Admiration, awe, pride, she didn't know, but it something that fueled her to keep going. Violet understood what Caila had felt when she'd gotten involved in that fight. It was a rage, indignation that someone who wasn't even part of a high grouping was punishing someone for something they didn't even do. Something they never deserved.
It was messed up. Violet could hardly believe people could be like that, but they were. And it was horrible.
Constantly, screams and desperate wails filled the halls. People wanted to help but they were either afraid, or didn't want to get on the popular people's bad sides. Violet couldn't help, even though she wanted to desperately. She was too weak, with her speech barrier and her delicate, willowy body. Violet knew if she tried to fight one of the groupies, she'd be snapped like a thin twig.
Just after 4 period, which was lunch for most if the school, Violet walked to the lunch tables only to hear quiet sobbing down the hall. She crept towards the sobbing, poking her head around the corner to find a small girl with forest green hair and shimmering grey eyes. She was curled into a ball, crying into her knees.
Violet leaned down and spoke softly, "You okay?" She didn't know much English, but she'd learned enough to say kind things to others, "What happened?"
The girl looked up, her tears falling quietly, "No.... No I'm not... They- they came and they told me.... That I was nobody. That no one would ever care about me.... And I know they're lying but-" she wailed again, the sound heartbreaking and filled with pain.
Just then, a boy with warm brown eyes and crimson hair stepped from around the corner, eyes soft with concern.
"Ariana...." He walked over, placing a gentle hand on her arm. Ariana looked up and started to cry.
"Why do they do this? Why? WHY?" Ariana wept into the boy's arms, his gaze becoming angry.
"What did they say to you, sis?" His brown eyes went from soft pools of brown to hard, flaming flecks of dark gold. Violet looked at his eyes in awe, marvelling at how fast they changed from kind to terrifying in a matter of seconds.
The boy, who was Ariana's brother supposedly, stood up, eyes flaming and his fists curled in rage, "I'm going to find them. And I'm going to f*ck them up." Ariana opened her mouth to speak but was silenced by a flaming glare from her brother.
Before he walked off, the boy put a hand on Violet's shoulder, "Thank you for helping her." His eyes flickered to the soft brown pools she'd seen earlier, then became hard again, "I have a score to settle now..." He walked off, crimson locks hanging over his face and hiding his flickering eyes.

Ayen was filled with unbridled fury. It burned though his veins like fire and rushed to his head like smoke, clouding his better judgement. To be honest, he didn't need it right now.
He needed to have a little chat with the lead groupie.... A very brief, violent chat.... Ayen grit his teeth, eyes flaming. He breathed, feeling the fury in his veins run through his blood and fuel him.
Arriving at a small wooden door, painted a yellow that was as close to gold as the school could get, Ayen cringed, giving a small knock as he restrained his anger for the person standing behind that door.
A boy with dark brown hair and hazel eyes, thin and short, opened the door a crack. Looking up, he saw Ayen and smiled brightly, though Ayen could see straight through the grin to the greedy look in his eyes like it was glass.
"Ayen! To what do I owe the pleasure?" Cryn smiled, his hazel eyes glittering with fraud happiness.
Ayen decided to drop the nice act and grabbed him by the shirt collar, "We need to have a talk."
Cryn's eyes widened, his expression panicked, "Um... Ayen?"
That was it. Ayen spun around on his heel and his clenched fist slammed into the other boy's cheek, eyes flaming pools of melted gold, "You son of a b*itch! Never talk to my sister like that ever again!" His voice was raised, furious, and dripping with venom. Cryn shrunk back in fear, covering the left side of his face with his hand, "I- I- I-" The words died on his tongue as Ayen shot him a blazing glare, teeth clenched as fury rushed through him. There was roaring in his ears and rage in his eyes and the taste of revenge on his tongue.
As Ayen advanced, Cryn backed away, shaking with his eyes wide in fear. One step forward, another step back. One by one, each trod of their feet echoing through the entire hall. It was just them, there on that moment of rage and fear and terror and adrenaline. Fire burned in Ayen's blood and terror shot through Cryn's body.
Cryn, fed up with this sudden change in direction, threw himself at Ayen. Something flew past and knocked him clean through the air.
Then an ear splitting scream ripped through the air.
Ayen stared at Cryn slumped against the wall, his mouth dropped open in shock. He slowly turned around.
And standing there, exactly where the male had been, was a girl with rose gold hair and eyes the color of indigo before the sky fades to nightfall.
Phoebe Aquila. The wild empress.
One of the strongest people the school had ever seen.
Ayen shook his head in disbelief. What is she doing here.
And that's when she turned around and smiled.
