"So Josh?" I raise an eyebrow at Cara.
She shrugs trying to act cool but from the sly smile I can tell she is just bursting to spill everything.
"He is so nice." She squeals.
"I know." I laugh at her taking a sip of my Starbucks.
"And cute! I mean those eyes Esther. They sparkle." Cara starts to get giggly.
Which means she likes Josh. She actually likes him. Looking up at the clock I notice that The Faults should be finished in ten.
"They're grey Cara."
"They sparkle Esther."
I laugh as Cara shoots me a death glare.
"You and lover boy gonna get hitched?" I raise an eyebrow at her.
"When would we do that?" She goes quiet. "Not like I have a bunch of time lately."
"You sure your parents won't let you come on tour with us? Even for the last bit?" I ask.
"They don't seem interested in me at all. The only time I get a put in is when they want to get custody of me. I'm pretty sure they only want me because I make money."
"That's not true. They love you Care bear and you know it."
She rolls her eyes. I look quickly at the clock to see how long I have.
"I've talked to Hayden." Cara's statement makes me bring my eyes back to her.
"And."
"Make up already will you? I hate seeing you guys like this." Cara moans running her hands through her hair.
"It's not my fault he's being distant."
"From what he says you're the one in the wrong."
"Are you kidding me? He has been avoiding me. He hasn't looked me in the eyes in days. Also he's being an ass to Fletcher, which doesn't make sense since Fletcher is actually a nice guy unlike him. I fainted the other day and he didn't care. I even saw him talking to Charlotte. He is just changed Cara and I don't know if I want him back." I rant on. Cara snaps her fingers and I bite my lip.
"Don't say something you might regret." She whispers.
She knows I'll run my mouth off and then want to take it all back. I take two deep breaths to calm myself. When I nod at her signalling I'm fine she nods back.
"To me it just sounds like he's jealous." Cara says playing with her nails.
"Of what?"
"Of Fletcher. Hayden knows you like drummer boy doesn't he?" I nod at her in confirmation.
"Then it's obvious. You really didn't think you guys could be that close and not start liking each other did you?"
I blink. I stare at the laptop not fully registering Cara's face on the screen. She can't be right can she? Hayden would have told me he liked me.
Actually he's never been able to talk about his feelings. I remember he waited a month to tell me he fancied a girl when we were 13.
Hayden can't like me.
"You know I'm right."
As Cara finishes someone comes rushing through the door behind me. Noticing how Cara starts to fix her hair I can guess who it is.
"I'll take over here." Josh says.
His hair is damp from sweat and there is a wide grin on his face. There's a slight hint of pink in his cheeks. Wether that was from being on stage or seeing Cara I wasn't sure.
