Charlie had arrived before Alycia, which was fine, she enjoyed being the only person in the small coffee shop, aside from the workers. She was on her second cup of coffee, and deep in a book when the door opened, making the faint bell ring. She was met with hazel eyes and a soft smile, or you know Alycia.

"Hey, I'm not late, am I?"
Shaking her head, Charlie closed her book and gave Alycia her full attention. When did she not these days?

"So, how does this work?"
Sliding into the chair across from Charlie, she stared blankly at the camera.

"This is a digital camera so in a way it kind of works how a phone would except there's a million more buttons and you're able to be more creative with your settings. Here watch," Charlie slid her coffee cup to Alycia, reaching for her hands.

"Gently wrap your fingers around the ceramic, just let them rest."

Charlie's fingers moved over Alycia's lightly, guiding them into place on the cup. Avoiding eye contact was something she was great at, and tended to stick to avoiding it as long as her hands were on the other girl's. Alycia, however, kept her eyes glued on Charlie's face. And as if on cue, Charlie's heartbeat was far from steady.

Inhaling sharply, Charlie pulled her hands away, and back to the camera. Biting her lip softly, she turn her attention through the lense. Fixing the focus, she holds the camera in frame for a few seconds before taking the picture and letting out a pleased sigh.

"Good?" Nodding, Charlie turns the camera's screen towards Alycia, showing her the image. Her lips forming a smile, she taps her fingers against the warm cup she still hasn't let go of.

"So clearly you're really good with the camera, and our subject is beauty in simplicity." Charlie's cheeks grew slightly pink at the compliment. "It's due in three days and I was thinking we could go around the city and find objects and things to capture in unknowing and natural surroundings. But, if you have any different ideas, throw them in."

"That actually sounds great, if you're free right now, I know a few spots around here we could try before sunset?"
Nodding, they both stood up.

"I'm going to grab an iced coffee before we go, would you like one?"
Despite wanting to say yes, Charlie shook her head no and stood back watching her. Unknowing and natural.
