"Take the picture!"

"Alycia, that is the farthest thing from natural there is!"
Laughter erupted from both of the girls as Alycia undone herself from a pose she'd learned in dance. It looked extremely painful, as she had pulled her foot back to the tip of her head, balancing perfectly, but it was also impressive. The smile remained on their faces as they kept walking.

"So you're in dance?"

Alycia looked at her, shaking her head softly.
"I was, just ballet though. My dad thought it best that I have hobbies, but I play basketball now."

"Your mom?"
Alycia shrugged it off.

"She's not around much. I think I've seen her six times in all sixteen years I've been alive. I do have two siblings though. I'm the middle kid."

She kept the smile on her face the entire time. She's one of those people who radiate light constantly, Charlie thought, and try to find the good in everyone and everything. That's pure.

"Oh! I also have a dog, and a fish."
Laughing lightly, Charlie gave her shoulder a slight nudge towards the flower bed to their right.

Pulling her camera out, Alycia focuses solely on the violets. Her fingers graze the petals and Charlie looks up just in time to observe it.

She gripped the camera, despite how fast her heart was beating, her hands were steady as she swiftly focused the camera on the girl in front of her, and the flowers she was admiring, before taking the picture. That didn't stop Alycia from picking one of the flowers from the bunch and turning to face Charlie with a silly grin.

"My lady," she had found her way onto one knee and was staring up at Charlie with big hazel eyes, batting her eyelashes back just enough to make Charlie's heart skip a beat, or two.

"Violets," Charlie slowly takes the flower from Alycia's offering hands, mimicking her smile.

"Did you know," Alycia stood back up, waiting for her to continue patiently, glad she actually took the flower. "Women who were romantically interested in other women would give that specific girl violets to show their affection."

Alycia's eyes softened as she took it in, Charlie walking alongside her still but keeping her gaze forward.

"It started with Sappho, a lesbian poet, and her poems which she describes her lover wearing a crown of violets."

Alycia smiled at the ground, Charlie smiling at her.

"I didn't," taking a short breath, she continued. "Maybe tomorrow over dinner you could teach me more about this?"

Charlie wasn't positive she heard her correctly, so hesitated a second which threw Alycia off. She began to reassure her that she could say no, and that it wasn't a big thing -though it was- before Charlie quickly spoke up.

"I'd love that."
