--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Took weak to lift herself to see who was behind the monstrous growl she accepted that this was her fate, to die by the hands of someone else. A future that it seemed no matter what she did to avoid, she would never escape. All she wanted was to leave this treacherous world on her own terms, but it seems that even that was a luxury the moon goddess would never allow her to have. But even after all this time she still had a fleeting hope that she was finally free, but the snarl that continued to echo around her, ringing in her ears, taking away that last glimmer of hope that she had tried so hard to keep. Another howl filled the air in response to the deep growl that had emanated through the forest. It wasn't long before she felt the hot breath of a creature on her neck, causing goosebumps to rise on her skin. 'Please no,' she thought to herself. She had made it so far, she couldn't believe this was her fate.

Expecting her throat to be ripped out at any moment she braced herself for the worst but was shocked when a voice broke through the air, screaming over the booming thunder that continued to roar. "Beta, she matches the description of the one that escaped from the Redwood Pack." No no no, they were going to return her back to hell itself. She couldn't go back there, she wouldn't. So she mustered all the strength left in her body and made an attempt at a feeble escape. She began to drag herself through the mud, groaning as her body protested. "Stop," a new voice broke out. Immediately her body shut down at the command and she cursed herself for being stuck in the position of an omega, submissive to the rule of anyone above her. This is how she would die, covered in the filth of the earth and at her wit's end.

"She can't be what they say she is Beta," a hushed voice spoke that could barely be heard above the wind whipping through the trees. "And yet she is," the beta let out a low growl in response before grabbing the feeble girl by her knotted hair and lifting her into a standing position effortlessly. Her feet dangled just above the earth, she could feel the mud below licking at her toes as her feet struggled to find the ground beneath her. Small hands reached in the air, the last of her adrenaline kicking in to defend herself, scratching at the hands that made her skull feel as though it was on fire. She could feel every strand of hair pulling at her scalp as she let out a whimper. Even after all these years, pain was not something she was immune to. Just something she was all too familiar with.

"The alpha is not going to be happy to see you," he trailed off, "or maybe he will be, after all, if you are who they say you are then he's been waiting to get his hands on you for a long time." the beta ended on a sinister note. If this monster was only the beta, she definitely didn't want to meet the alpha.

'What do they think I am?', was the only thought that swirled around her mind, as black dots clouded her vision again. She tried to hold onto consciousness but then she was dropped to the ground, and as her head collided against a rock her world turned to black.

"Beta, how can she be the one, she looks too weak to do any damage," the man trailed off, lost in his thoughts of what happened to the packs she visited.

"Don't forget Ryne, they said she would try to fool us like this so we would welcome her into our pack thinking she was just a poor girl that needs help." the beta snarled at the slumped girl at his feet, "We have to take her to the Alpha now, before she wakes."

Ryne sighed as he looked at the small figure passed out on the ground, covered in mud before nodding his head in agreement. Ryne opened his mind link with his Alpha, feeling the click of the link being accepted by his Alpha he let him know what was happening, 'We found the girl in our land Alpha.' It wasn't long before Ryne got a response, 'What girl,' the Alpha asked his Gamma. 'The one that escaped from the Redwood pack.' Ryne got no response this time, but in the distance, he heard a faint howl. Soon after, more howls joined in celebration, knowing their Alpha's howl could only mean one thing.

They had her, and now she would finally pay.
