"Argh"

You awoke suddenly, pondering what had woken you up. Peering to your bedside table, your clock read 3.27 am. It was probably just a bad dream...

"Shit!"

You groaned, memories of the past few nights coming back to you. The week has begun on an awful note when you were dumped, and it kept going downhill as your neighbour decided to make a habit of midnight gaming. Why doesn't he just sleep during the night and game during the day as a normal person would?

"You have GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!"

Reaching over to your bedside table, you grabbed your phone and earphones, hoping a slow song would block out anymore screams of frustration and help you sleep.

Slowly by surely, you drifted off to sleep...

"WHAT? I- NO! NOO!!"

He just got louder. Each time you turned up the music, he picked up the volume, too. More than anything, you needed the sleep right now. It had been days. Tears of frustration flowed done your face. There was no way you could deal with this anymore. Without shoes, you stormed over to his apartment. It's too bad he was nice to you the previous couple of times you had spoken. You knew you would feel bad if you were too harsh on him.

It took a few seconds for the door to open after you had knocked. You could tell he knew what was wrong as he opened the door slowly, reluctantly peeking out at you.

"I'm so sorry... Y/N, are you alright?"

"Matt, you need to stop this. I can't speak for anyone else in the apartment complex but I know for damn sure I've gotten no sleep for the past week because of your screaming and yelling!"

By the end of it, you were gasping between cries. You had tried to keep everything in this week, and you had failed. Damn it...

Matt grabbed your hand and gently pulling you inside. He turned on the kitchen light, pouring you a glass of water. You apologized between sips.

"I'm sorry... I've just been... so frustrated this week..."

"You know what I find helps?"

You knew immediately what he would suggest. At first, you were going to decline, but the idea was appealing.

"Let's play a game together!"

It was strange how comfortable you became around Matt in such a short amount of time. Soon, you had almost forgotten about the reality outside Matt's apartment door. Playfully nudging his shoulder, you celebrated as you won your third game of Wii baseball.

"No! What? There's no skill, It's all lu-"

Your laughter and Matt's screaming was disrupted by the loud knock on the door

"SHUT UP!"

You and Matt cringed, looking at each other.

"Maybe we should play something else."

(A/N; probably not the greatest "gaming" song (or even chill) but it's the calmest I could think of. I'm about to get real lame here but... this book surpassing 20 views and 1 vote brought me so much joy. I forgot how it felt to publish books on here. Please continue to support me and I will try my absolute hardest to repay that with my writing!)
