05 | GUESSING GAMES

"i'd say i won fair and square."

dyllie said firmly while he balled his fists, his brows furrowed and his lips tugged downwards while he stood in all his glory, glaring at cloud who seemed unfazed by the situation.

"yes and i love you,"

cloud replied sarcastically that just added fuel to dyllie's anger more.

"you know that i would never lie AT all right? so why won't you believe me?"

dyllie was now stomping, thrashing around like a 4 year old who didn't get his avocado. thankfully huxxie entered the room with a tray of banana bread and fresh milk.

"alright boys enough of playing have a snack,and we're also having dinner outside since dwyn and lancy are coming back from their trip from maldives."

dyllie's mom said as he kept the monopoly board, and was happy that their son didn't throw the board at his best friend like last time.

"eesh sir huxxie he goes around whining like a wittle baby."

"as if we all aren't used to that,"

huxxie replied as he laughed and bid goodbye to the boys, out of nowhere dyllie jumps on cloud who was sitting on the carpeted floor.

with dyllie squishing cloud, the younger boy from beneath squirmed as he wheezed "oh my fricking god you're heavy you jerk!"

cloud complained as he threw dyllie off him "jeez eat less loser." cloud said as he sat on the floor taking a bite from the bread. dyllie, as always, took cloud's words seriously and he immediately ran to his walk-in-closet mirror and looked at himself.

"i was just joking huang! you're as light as a feather i swear!!"

cloud said from the corner of the room.

〈fast forward to second quarter

"OH MY GOOOOD!"

dyllie screeched into cloud's ear as he happily jumped up and down, the younger huffed in annoyance as he slammed his locker shut. "god dyllie what is it?"

"we're having a huge ball at the end of the school year!!"

"yeah? and school has only started?"

"and...and mayhaps my crush likes me back too!"

dyllie squealed as he spun around like a fairy meanwhile cloud felt something bubbling up in his stomach, he forced himself to smile, not knowing the reason why he was mad.

the two walked to the classroom, since it was the beginning of a new quarter, it meant a new seating arrangement, unlike last time they were arranged alphabetically, now it was yet unknown.

"alright so everybody please stand up i am going to rearrange the seating arrangement today,"

mrs chai ended up placing cloud at the fourth row, meanwhile dyllie was too busy talking to hina he was being called by their adviser, telling him to sit next to lee daehwi which was at the fifth row meaning the two best friends were still near each other.

"mister huang you are going to sit here and oh! miss nakamoto,beside mister huang please at his right side."

their classmates made howling noises, some screeched and some cooed, mrs chai telling them to quiet down, well it isn't a big deal really,

if caedylle huang wasn't seated to the boy he's been pining over for almost a year, who's named lee daehwi.

cloud could feel his insides bubbling up in anger as he tried to relax himself, he sighed sadly and poked his inner cheeks using his tongue, he didn't understand what he was so irked that he accidentally slammed his fists onto the desk, luckily his classmates were busy laughing, or talking to each other and their adviser left them.

he then decided to tie the strings of his hoodie and just sleep throughout the class since he barely got sleep yesterday because of all the things up in his mind.

he heard giggling and he didn't have to look back to find out who it belonged to, he grew up to love it, he's been hearing it for almost 11 years now, but what did make his blood boil was that he was not the reason dyllie was happy.

"that was epic!!"

dyllie exclaimed and laughed more because daehwi, his long time crush had opened his phone and had set the chinese as his lock screen, as much as dyllie was busy laughing, deep inside he had flowers growing in his stomach and rainbows all over.

"don't worry, as if i didn't set you as my lock screen too,"

cloud heavily sighed as he removed his hoodie and just shoved his hands inside the pockets of his sweater.

the two were now playing some game, probably candy crush saga, cloud felt really sad like he wanted to cry or burst out like a volcano.

throughout the whole period, he was annoyed and disappointed that dyllie had barely talked to him, his 15 year old mind had kept on tell him this,

why would you be mad?! what are you two even in the first place? you're just best friends there's no need to be mad about it! you're not his top priority, you should've known that by now cloud lee.

dyllie won't always be with you and neither will you always be around him, get some new friends too dumbass!

as soon as class finished, cloud immediately grabbed his books and notebooks and walked out of the classroom, dyllie was too caught up talking to daehwi he didn't realize how upset his best friend was.

"HEY! what about going to the newly opened arcade, i heard it's just a 10 minute walk outside the campus!"

"y-y-yeah s-s-sure, w-well..uhh your friend wouldn't mind?"

due to the adrenaline rush, he wasn't thinking and even remembered what he promised cloud, he immediately said yes.
