*Emma's POV*

I was about to crawl into bed, completely done with this day, when there was a knock on my door. I want expecting anyone, so I ignored it, but after 20 minutes they were still knocking. I sighed and got up, flipping on the hallway light before opening the door.

"Killian," I breathed in utter disbelief. I'd honestly thought he wouldn't come back after giving him the cold shoulder like I did. "What are you doing here?"

"I dont do this often, so treasure it, love," he started in his usual confident way, but then sighed and stepped a bit closer. "I've come to apologize."

"For what exactly?"

"You were right," he told me simply. "I should have just spoken with my brother, and I never should have kept us a secret. You deserve better than that."

"Killian-"

"I also never should have left," he continued, shaking his head at himself with downcast eyes. "I could see you were upset with me, but I couldn't tell if you were angry or hurt and I didn't know how to fix it so I didnt even try. For that and everything else, I am truly sorry."

"Thank you," I acknowledged with a nod. "But I was on my way to bed."

"Right," he nodded as well, turning to leave. "In that case, I should go. Goodnight, Swan."

"Just come inside," I sighed with a faint smile. He looked up when I grabbed his hand and tugged him inside. "I very much appreciate the apology, but you missed my point. I was asking you to stay. Come to bed with me."

"Really?" He asked in shock and I had to fight my urge to giggle.

"Well I can't test this new bed on my own, can I?" I teased and he grinned. "Think you can help a girl out?"

"Oh, for definite," he smirked, stepping closer. He didn't even have to touch me, just being so close to him had me itching for him. "I say we give this thing a full test run."

"So you're not mad at me?" Killian asked later that night, only the thin sheet between us now. "You have every right to be, but..."

"Oh, I'm thoroughly upset," I told him honestly. "But you acknowledged that you handled it wrong and you apologized. What else can I really ask for?"

"Thank you," he said with a light kiss to my forehead. "I appreciate your understanding more than I can say. I'll make it up to you, I promise."

"I'll hold you to that," I teased  and he smiled. "I'd really like to actually meet your brother, so maybe we can start there."

"I thought we could start here," he smirked, the innuendo in his words quite obvious. "But if you insist."

"Who says we can't do both?" I winked at him and he laughed. "Maybe then you can meet Mary Margaret and David. I swear they act like my parents sometimes, but they're great. They'll love you."

"I'll be on my best behavior," he promised, sealing it with a sweet kiss. "For now I think it's time for bed. I have to be up in..." he checked the clock. "4 hours to go open the store."

"Please don't wake me up at 5 AM," I laughed lightly. "I think I'd die."

"I won't," he assured me with a smile, kissing my lips as he leaned over to flick off the light. "Goodnight, Swan."

"Goodnight, Killian," I rolled my eyes in the dark. I quickly settled with him, however, my head perched near his shoulder and my hand on his chest. This had quickly become my favorite way to fall asleep, right next to him with his arms around me.
