The doorbell rang. I'm not expecting visitors, am I? Still in my cat onesie, i get up from the couch and open the door. Standing there was Daniel, and he blushed when he saw my onesie.
"Oops! I'm so sorry Daniel, I forgot we were going to the park today! Kawaiichan will go get changed now!" I let Daniel In and ran upstairs. Daniel and I had become close friends. Sometimes I felt lonely at home since Zane keeps going to job interviews, so I'm glad I have company nearby!

Today was supposed to be a bit chilly so I wore my galaxy open-shoulder shirt. I know it's a bit fancy for a walk in the park, But i haven't gotten out any of my sweaters for winter yet. I went back downstairs.
"W-wow... I mean, Y-You look g-good in tha- today," Daniel stammered. I hid my amusement and smiled my thanks. Although Daniel is shy, he's a good person, and cute as well- I mean, it's not like I have feeling for him, I'm with Zane now. We left and I headed for the park, not realizing I left my phone in the house.
Zane POV
Nana isn't answering my calls... I better go tell her the good news in person. She might be sleeping, or maybe she's taking a shower. I get in my car and drive home.
But nana wasn't there either. I find her phone on the bed, apparently she had been listening to music and was pretty relaxed before she left. Was there an emergency? No, somebody would have contacted me. I decided to track her Fitbit.
It said she was at the park so I head that way.

Daniel and I collapsed on the bench after the fierce round of frisbee. He won, but I put up enough of a show that little kids gathered around to watch. Now we caught our breath as the sun began to slide behind the rooftops. (Image at the top)
"It's beautiful," I whispered.
"N-not as beautiful as you," Daniel muttered.
"What?" I prompted, pretending not to hear.
"Nothing!" He looked away blushing. I giggled.
As we sat in silence watching the last kids leave, Daniel turned towards me. "K-kawaiichan..."
"Yeah?" I asked.
"I- I know you're already with Zane, and I don't want to ruin your relationship with him, but I- I really like you." I froze. I knew I should have noticed, but I guess... I guess I assumed he was just that type of person.
"I-I'm sorry, I should have-" he stood and started to leave.
"Wait, Daniel, come back!" He stopped. "It's okay, let's just talk." He turned around so I could see his beet-red face. "Come here," I said gently, patting the seat next to me in invitation.
He sat down, apparently trying to hide his face in his coat. I shivered. "Man, I should've brought a jacket."
"W-want to use mine?" Daniel asked.
"Won't you be cold?" I asked as he took it off.
"Not when my face is this red," he muttered, tossing his warm green jacket around my arms. I thanked him.
"So... how long?" I asked bluntly. His ear pricked as he heard my question.
"S-since high school, although I didn't realize it back then. Now that I think about it, one of my bullies were in our class together, and... I didn't want to look weak in front of you, I think. So that's part of the reason I challenged ein."
"Wait, you CHALLENGED him? I thought the werewolves just chose you over ein!" I blinked. Daniel chuckled.
"You know that's not how werewolves work! Even though, I've never told anybody, but I actually didn't win that fight."
"Huh? Then how did you defeat him?"
"Aaron," he answered. "Aaron came... I was trying to do whatever I could to keep ein away from the werewolf games, but then Aaron came and stopped ein from... hurting me... anymore.
"He threw ein out the window but then that's when I realized he was a werewolf this whole time... and then he threw me too and I landed on top of ein, and everyone assumed I had just defeated ein. Even aphmau doesn't know, and I never got to thank Aaron." He took a deep breath.
"Wow, I didn't realize he was a werewolf until before we went to starlight..." I breathed.
"K-kawaiichan," Daniel started hesitantly.
"Ya?" I asked again. "Can I... kiss you?"
"What?!?"
"I mean, not in any way that I would want to take you from Zane, but... I just want to do it once. If I'm going to have my first kiss, I want it to be with someone like you." I smiled.
"Fine, But only quick." Then I leaned forward and we kissed for a second before I pulled away.
"Not bad, huh?" I asked and he blushed even more. But then I heard a camera shutter and footsteps running away.
"Wha- aphmau-Senpai!" It was obviously her, since she and I were the only stalker-type fan girls around here besides Lucinda, but she doesn't use cameras. I chased the figure that was now so far ahead all I could see of it was purple. "Aphmaaaaaaaau!" I yelled in frustration, stopping to catch my breath. Daniel caught up to me.
"I don't think she'll show anyone..." he said but I knew he wanted to say she would tease me about it.
"Ugh I'll explain to her when I get home." I looked at the darkening sky. "We should be heading," I said.
