Chapter Five: A Family?

As the sun rose Rezem and I headed out to get in some early training. So, you met someone, and she has a son I said. yes, and I love them both very much he said. when will I get to meet them I asked? you will meet them tomorrow.

Her name is Marie and his name it Tyler. Marie is the duke's daughter Rezem said. does he know that you two have been romantically involved I asked? yes, he knows. I told him as soon as it turned serious and he is very supportive of it Rezem said.

If its not to personal where is the boys birth father I asked. all I know is what the duke told me. Marie had met a nice man who seemed to be her own prince charming. Only to find out that he wasn't. when she found out she was expecting his child the man left.

Chole stop Rezem yelled trying to pull me off him. Soon I was yanked off by a strong set of arms. I swear I will kill you if you ever talk about her that way again I yelled trying to break free of the hold I was in.

enough the voice shouted making me go still. I turned and looked seeing the king holding me in his grasp. I'm sorry your majesty I said as he let me go. What was going on here he asked looking at Rezem. Jace was being disrespectful of the princess.

He was saying horrible things. Chole was only defending her princesses honor Rezem said. I see. And what were you about my daughter young man the king asked. Jace remained silent not being able to say anything.

I better not hear another word about my daughter from you or it will be your life he said. Jace nodded and bowed before he ran out of sight. While I am honored that you were defending Lunas honor it will not happen again.

You are a royal guard and you must uphold that image. Next time just teach him with a little less force. do not fight using your fists. Am I understood he asked. yes, your majesty. It will not happen again I swear I said.

Good. Now for the reason I came. The duke's guests have arrived early, and you were requested. So I thought I'd do the honor and bring them to you myself he said. Rezem smiled as Marie came out the doors with Tyler in her arms.
