THE SPACE EMINENCE

Chapter Three

Clem was escorted to Samuel Abarry residents. She did not shed a tear nor utter a word. Samuel was worried with her but he knows that the child needs time for herself.

He gave Clem a room next to his youngest son. Maybe in the morning he could slowly explain everything to his family.

"I already transferred all your belongings in this room. Take a rest Clem we'll talk in the morning"

"Thank you uncle Sam"

She laid her body to bed. She held the test tube bottle on her hand carefully examined it.

Though in her age, she was not childish enough not to know that this liquid inside the test tube is probably the reason of her parents death, not just them but hundreds of people.

She could not help but to hate the thing on her delicate hand. She bit her lower lip and grip the small bottle tightly trying to destroy the thing.

Due to extreme frustration Clem throw the bottle across the room.

"Mama, Papa why do you need to go? Do you not want me anymore?" For the first time Clem cried. She slept with tears on her eyes.

The next day Clem opened her eyes, claiming the reality that she is now an orphan.

Surprisingly the test tube bottle did not shatter, but the glowing blue substance was nowhere in sight. It was just a simple transparent liquid inside.

Clem walks slowly towards it. When she touched the bottle, strangely the light illuminated.

There's a consecutive knock on the door. Samuel found Clem sitting on the floor.

"What are you doing there Clem. Quick stand up, the floor is cold." Samuel carefully guided little Clem to stand.

"Uncle Sam, what is this thing?" In Samuel's memory this was the thing Cane left on her daughter.

When the test tube bottle was on his touch, the blue light strangely disappeared. Samuel does not know what's inside the bottle.

"Surprisingly the liquid only reacted on your touch. Sorry Clem but I do not know what this is, but one thing for sure this thing is very important to your parents." He returned the bottle to Clem and once again the blue light appeared.

"Change your clothes, we'll having breakfast I'll introduce you to my family"

Clem nodded while her eyes were still on the bottle. Pondering to his uncle's words it must be something valuable but why on earth did his father left it to her.

She was just a weak child, how will she protect the liquid? Out of curiosity Clem opened the bottle.

The peculiar substance light beams even more. Like a being, the water flowed out from the bottle and floated in the air.

Clem out fright runs to her bed.

"Authorized host detected..." An auto-generated voice like boom on Clem's mind.

"Who are you?" Clem exclaimed.

The liquid floated in front of her.

"Authorized host compatibility initializing..."

"10%"

"30%"

"55%"

"70%"

"80%"

"95%"

"99%..."

"Authorized host compatibility initializing compete"

"What are you doing?" Still the liquid in front of her grew even brighter.

"Preparing for installment"

"Installing..."

"10%"

"45%"

"80%"

"95%"

"Installing complete"

Clem does not know what was happening or whose voice is talking through her mind.

Suddenly the liquid advances slowly in her face that it almost touches her nose.

All of a sudden the liquid rashly entered her right eye. No matter what she does she could not close her eyes. It was like she was absorbing the liquid greedily.

"Stop! Stop! What are you doing?"

Clem was now in a space where theres no end. It was just all nothingness. Everything was a mirror to itself. She was standing but she theres no ground at all.

"Clemnfell Margotte Cartin or know as Clem, welcome to Space Eminence where knowledge is no bounds and strength is no end.

A woman wearing an over all black suit appeared in front of her. This was a kind of uniform she often seen on the military but it is so much different. This is the first time she saw that kind of uniform. With an emblem of letter 'E' facing each other and the triple ring encasing both letters making the woman's appearance more sophisticated.

"Please choose your Guide. Remember this is the only time you can choose so select wisely."

A thousand of small holograms containing the face of a person suddenly appeared around Clem. She do not know why would she choose a guide or what she would do with it.

The woman was just warmly smiling, waiting for her to choose.

She almost fell dizzy with all the faces around her. Male and female with different appearance. One caught her attention is a young boy.

A childish face that is younger than her. She could not take away her eyes those chubby cheeks of her. One again she swept a glance to the thousand of faces but she ended up with the boy with a childish face. This is tge youngest among them.

"Congratulation you choose Iort X-2O to be your guide. From now on he will be your companion in Space Eminence

(AN/ Iort is pronounced as i-yort)

The girl disappeared replacing by the young boy she previously selected.

The young boy stared at her with indifference.

"You chose me?" A very sweet voice unexpectedly comes from him.

Clem who was still confused by this entire thing just nod.

"Ahhhhhhhhhh! You truly chose me? Hahaha I know I'm the brightest F*** all those old farts. Whahahaha"

"What should I call you?" Iort X-2O asked.

"I'm Clemfell Margotte Cartin just call me Clem"

"Clem I'm Iort X-2O just call me Iort." Iort flicked his fingers and then two chairs appeared.

"X-2O what was that mean?" Clem could not fathom that a number could actually use as a surname.

"X-2O is the name of the planet where I came from... Wait let me asses you first."

Theres a green light scanned her from head to toe. She just waited and Iort jaw fell.

"Hmm what happened?"

"Wow! You are actually...

Very weak... And young... And dumb!" Iort exclaimed.

"What did you just say?" Clem was fuming this is the first time she encountered a child younger than her insulted her without batting on the eye.

"This is the first time I saw someone as looser as you"
