Kailyn Morris pulls the phone away from her ear, a heavy sigh escaping her lips. Brittany Logano raises her furrows her perfect eyebrows in confusion, "everything okay K?"

the seventeen year old shakes her head, watching Joey Logano climb up the steps of her front porch, where Brittany and her on. Joey notices the upset look on Kailyn's face and raises his eyebrows in concern, immediately becoming over protective. "what's wrong? are you okay?"

she bites her lower lip, rubbing the back of her neck sheepishly. Joey sits down next to her on the swing, Brittany on her other side. "my grandmother is sick."

Joey frowns, grabbing onto her hand and holding onto it tightly. "that's horrible k. . . "

". . . which means i need to move to take care of her."

the color drains from Joey's face, his heart breaking in half at the words. he swallows thickly, clearing his throat. "back to New Jersey?"

Kailyn sighs, nodding her head as she stares at the sunset in front of her. "yeah." she drops Joey's hand, standing to her feet and clearing her throat to prevent her from crying. she then wipes her hands on her dark colored jeans. "i should go pack."

Brittany sighs, watching her young best friend walk into her house, closing the door behind her. she then turns back to her upset looking husband, nodding her head towards the door. "go help her pack, ill order some pizza for the three of us tonight."

Joey nods his head numbly, standing up slowly to his feet. he couldn't believe Kailyn Norris is moving. he remembered the first day when she moved in next door to his house, struggling to unpack the boxes from the bed of her truck. she, of course, knew exactly who he was from watching nascar with her grandmother, so imagine her reaction when he grabbed the heavy large box from her hands.

Joey closes the wooden door behind him, walking slowly towards Kailyn who was bringing out the boxes she stored in her closet from when she moved in just in case she felt the need to move out randomly.

Kailyn sniffles softly, placing a box on the floor and running a hand over her face. she didn't want to move and leave behind her best friend and Joey, but she knows she needs to go take care of her grandmother, the grandmother she's very close too.

Joey wraps his large arms around her, and she leans back into his chest. she then turns her body around, wrapping her arms around his slim waist and burying her head into his chest. "i'm going to miss you so much Jo."

Joey inhales, placing one hand behind her head for support. "i'll miss you too k."

Joey and Brittany watch Kailyn close the bed of her truck, both having tears in their eyes. Kailyn turns around and faces them, her arms spread out open in front of her. Brittany moves into the hug first, wrapping her arms around the younger girl and squeezing her tightly. "make sure you call every night and let me know how your grandmother is doing."

Kailyn nods her head and pulls away, her hands on Brittany's shoulders. "of course." Brittany gives her a tight smile before stepping back. Kailyn glances up at Joey, who stares at her sadly before wrapping his arms around her in a bone crushing hug.

Joey sniffles, placing his head on top of hers as he rubs her back. "you have my number, always text me when you need someone to cheer you up." he quickly leans down and places his lips against her forehead. "i'm going to miss you."

Kailyn pulls back and smiles up at him. "i'm going to miss you too."

Joey steps back and laces his fingers with Brittany as Kailyn gets into her truck. she turns over the engine, and waves her hand out the window, before pulling out the driveway leaving behind a devastated Joey.
