S u r p r i s e // Qian Kun x reader

11.00 AM

Another day getting back to work. It's fun, i enjoy doing what i do.

I don't get paid that much, but it's enough to pay rent and food.

Today my co-worker, Yi, is absent.
She's on a date with her fiance, this means i'll have to work just a bit harder. 
It shouldn't be that difficult, Wednesdays are the calmest days of the week, most people around here prefer eating at home on this day so it's quite easy to deal with the people that do come here.
They are mostly people that come by weekly, who don't have anyone at home waiting for them.
Unlike me, i have my wonderful cat, Aike, at home.

"Y/N! Please, close the shop down when you finish cleaning! I'll be out now, goodnight and see you tomorrow!" My boss screamed while leaving through the back door.

Sigh, seems like i'm gonna be alone for another while.

It's 10.34 PM right now, 26 minutes before closing time.
As i'm reaching for the cleaning supplies, i hear the doors open.

"Goodevening. We're closing in 26 minutes, no big orders, i'm sorry." i say, walking back to the counter to see someone i never expected seeing in real life, let alone at work.

NCT's Qian Kun.

I was beyond shook. Myself, i am quite the NCTzen.
I try my hardest to save up before a comeback is announced, not that it always works. I know i will never be able to go to a concert to support them but the least i can try is buying the albums and voting.

Kun takes off his mask and smiles at me.

"That's alright, i only want something simple before heading home."

Alright y/n, keep yourself together. Treat him like every other customer.

"I can, right?" His smile slowly fades.

Shit- i was silent for too long.

"OH! Yes ofcourse you can! I'm sorry, it's been a long day. What can i get for you, sir?" I say, putting on a smile.

He smiles again, showing off his adorable dimple.
"Kun, just call me Kun please. Could i please get some stir fry vegetables?"

"They're on the way, would i like something to drink?" I say, grabbing some supplies.
Kun looks outside.
"It's on the house, since you're the last one of today, Kun" I put on a smile, facing him again, waiting for his reaction.

It takes a few seconds, then he looks back at you again, hesitating what to say as answer.
It's quite clear to see he doesn't know to either accept or decline and pay for it all.

We make sudden eye contact. It was, as i'd like to put it, quite uncomfortable to look him straight in the eyes.
But i cannot let him know i know him. I must treat him like a normal human being, equal to everybody else. That's what i would've wanted if i stood in his shoes.

Kun smiles once again.
"Yes please, if you would want to do that. Thank you, that means a lot to me. Can i get some tea?"

"Ofcourse you can. You're welcome" I smile. "Your order will be right up."

A few minutes later i bring him his tea and continue making his order.

As the minutes pass by, i can notice him looking at me from time to time, as if he wanted to say something. As if he had done it before.

I shake off the feeling and let him do what he wants as i continue making the stir fry vegetables.

A good 15 minutes passed and i finished the vegetables. I put them nicely on a plate and bring them to Kun, earning another smile. I smile back.

"Would you like some more tea, kun?"

"Yes please, if it's not too much to ask of you, since it's almost closing time."

"It'll be alright, we can stay open a bit longer then usually, i have no rush." I say, picking up the cooking supplies i used so i can wash them.

"Don't you have someone waiting at home for you?"

I hesitate weither i should be that one awkwardly funny person and bring up my cat or be completely honest that i have no one to come home to...

I show a soft smile and look into his direction to see him enjoying his food, i decide not to ruin the mood.

"I do, Aike waits at home for some lovely cuddles." I say, happily. "How's the food?"

"ow..." Oh no, he sounded disappointed. "The food is great, thank you for your time."

He sounded a lot more happy about the food. I suppose he's just tired, like i am.

"Aike is my cat, for if you were wondering Kun" I softly laugh as i was the last spoon.

"They must be a wonderful company" He smiles as he finishes his food. "Do you need a hand with cleaning up? It's the least i can do after getting free tea."

"Nono, it's alright. I can do this. Btw, i meant all of the order. Get home safe please, i hope you enjoyed the food and tat you'll come back one day." I walk over the his table and take the plate.

"I can't simply accept such a good diner for free like that, let me repay you, please."

"Kun, it's alright really. But if you want to repay me in any way, feel free to. Just don't pay for this, it's on the house." I straighten my back as much as possible, since i don't want him to notice my knees are getting week from hearing his voice only. Fangirl much?

"I'll come up with something. See you soon." He smiles and turns to walk out, but stops and faces me again. "Wait, i never got your name." 

I honestly, didn't expect that question.

"It's Choi Y/n. Get home safely please." I bow at him.

"Thank you, you too."

11.24 PM

I just finished up cleaning. I wonder how Kun will repay me. I shake it off my mind and rethink about his cute smile. I've obviously biased him. But he deserves better than me, i'm glad he came by, it made my day.

I turn off the light, close the shop and start heading home. I don't live too far away from work, just a few blocks. I take out my phone and earphones and plug them in, the moment i plugged them in, i get pulled into an alleyway. I wanted to scream but a hand covered my mouth.
As it was dark, i couldn't do much aside from trying my best to get out of this grip.

I bite the person's hand and scream.
Midway the scream, i get punched in the side. Tears prickle in my eyes as i fall to my knees, holding my side in pain.

A shadow fell over me, i looked up at about a 6'0" tall man who rushed towards me and the person that just hurt me.
Me thinking he was with the person behind me i close my eyes and lower my head, waiting for the impact.
Instead of that, i hear a few punches and groans. I slowly get up and turn to the sounds, to be pushed away, i fall, being unstable due the pain in my side.
I fall against  the side of an iron trash can and hurt my cheek.
I touch my cheek and feel some blood coming from the wound the fall had created.
In fear, i look up at the 6'0" man who just scared off the person that was hurt me in the first place. I can tell by the look in his eyes he's sorry that i'm hurt.

He holds out his hand to help me up. He doesn't say a thing. I can't see much off his face, nor hair.
He's wearing a mask and beanie.

He speaks up, clearly trying to recreate a sort of voice.
"I'm sorry you got hurt, let me walk you home."

All i could do was not, i'm terrified. I don't wanna be alone.

12.36 AM

I lead him towards where i  live, i turn to face him.
"T-thank you..."

All he does is nod and walk away. Rude.

I get inside, to find my cat isn't in the living room. He must already be asleep in bed then.
As i get the first aid kit and go to the bathroom, i notice in the mirror my clothes got all dirty.

Sighing, i take off my clothes and take a shower. After that, i clean the cut in my cheek and look at the bruise of my side. It's pretty big and blue.
I patch myself up and brush my teeth.

What a long day it was i thought as i laid down in my bed, turned off the light and fell asleep.

01.43 AM

"She's safe now, stop worrying." ?????? Said through the phone.

"SHE COULD'VE GOTTEN KILLED! i-... i'm sorry for yelling... i just, wish she'd remember...She'd be so much safer if she did.." The voice on the other side said.

"[] [] [] []  [] [] [], stop overreacting and get home. They can't work any faster on that potion." Another voice said, which came from the person beside ???????.

"I'm sorry, i'll be home soon."
