~picture of Laye above~

I don't have a car. Because I can't afford one. So my usual transport is by the city bus. I don't mind though,it sometimes gives me time to think.

I arrived early enough at the orphanage to say hi to the kids that have to go to school. I rush to Jay's room to find him frowning at the lady that was supposed to give him a bath and prepare him for the day.

His frown immediately disappears when he sees me.
"...ayeeee",he squeaks excitedly running towards me and wrapping his little hands around my legs.

"Well, good morning baby",I shuffle his hair and scoop him up. "How is my little angel?!".

"Was sad... ayeee come late," he spoke fidgeting with his fingers

"Ayeee is sorry, you know the traffic isn't very good for me, but I'm here now. Let's get you bathed so we can go have breakfast, okay?!"

"Yay!!", He cheers and claps his little hands.

I smile at the helper as she makes her way out. I'm sure she was glad, Jay can be a headache sometimes.

I put him in his bath tub and wash him, dress him and take him out for breakfast. I serve him his bowl and work to convince him to let the helper feed him while I go get some paper work done. He finally agrees after I promise him to have milkshake instead of his usual plain milk.

I pass by Ms.Ryne's office to see what she had for me for the day.

''Morning Ms.Ryne," after stepping into the office.

"Morning Laye, dear. How are you?!," she smiles up at me. Ms.Ryne is around her early forties, she is tall, dark skinned, with straight long hair that is so smooth and silky you wouldn't believe it's natural. She has beautiful yet strong eyes and the perfect body.

"Fine ma'am. What do you have for me today?!," I sit on one of the visitor's chairs infront of her.

"Not much my dear, but I would like to thank you,"

"Hunh?! But why ma'am?!,"

"For all your hard work here in the orphanage. I must admit that I would have had a hard time without you here, I feel bad sometimes. Because you don't get paid at all for all the work you're doing. On top of that, the kids love you. I mean look at Jayson. He came here just a small kid who could only cry but thanks to you, he is now such a bubbly kid. You've played the mother role for Jay despite the fact that you're still so young yourself."

I was already getting emotional at her words, I really do love the kids. And Jay, well Jay is my little miracle worker, My life could be crumbling down but just a single word from his innocent self washes all my troubles away.

"Well, ma'am, I in the begining, I did this to create a good CV. But with time I've learned to love this place. The kids are all wonderful and all so loving. And Jay is just perfect. His whole being completes me. I love this place and I love you all," I smile at her.

I smile as I take on my duties for the day. I drop by the kitchen and take my little muchkin to my office. Yes, I have an office. It's nothing fancy but cozy. I place Jay on a small mat and give him his toys as I go through my work for the day.

I stop when I hear Jay's hearty laughter all of a sudden and smile at the sight in front of me. He is having so much fun with his toys, I don't even know what's so amusing there but he looks so happy. Oh, what would I give to have such pure happiness.

I'm interupted from my trance on Jay by the ring on my phone. It was Steph.

"Hey apple!", I greet cheerfully.
