Glowkit peered over the water at his reflection. He looked up at the large stepping stone before him. ""Just jump! Go!"" Brookkit squeaked. Glowkit whipped around.

""If you think it's so easy, you do it!"" He hissed. She scoffed, then jumped onto the stepping stone. She slipped, and desperately clawed at the stone below her. She regained her balance, and jumped onto the next stepping stone.

""Come on Slowkit!"" She teased. He narrowed his eyes, and jumped onto the first stepping stone. ""See? You can do it--"" She started to say, as Glowkit fell off the stepping stone. His claws scraped the rock, and he held on, looking terrified. His claws had caught on indents in the rock. Brookkit jumped back to the stepping stone he was attempting to get on. She reached over, and grabbed his scruff. She tried to drag him up, and he got a better grip on the rock. He scrambled up the rock, as Brookkit jumped to the other rock.

""Can we go back to camp?"" He begged. Brookkit shook her head. ""Please? I just wanna bask in the light at camp..."" He begged.

""Come on! We're really close to the tree bridge! Then you can bask in all the sunlight on the other side of the lake!"" Brookkit said. He sighed, and jumped onto the next stepping stone, as Brookkit did. Eventually they reached the tree bridge, where the water was shallower. Glowkit could see the ground below the water, but was still too small to touch the ground. When they got to a point where they could reach the ground in the water, they jumped down.

""I'm really cold... can we please turn back now?"" Glowkit begged. Brookkit shook her head. They walked onto the other side, and he shivered badly. ""Brookkit it's sundown. Please, I wanna go home."" He begged. Brookkit realized the sun was indeed going down, and sighed.

""Fine. Let's go home. But at dawn, we're going to go take over Fogclan, then CaveClan, and then OasisClan! They'll never see us coming! Littlestar, Miststar, and Willowstar will never see us coming! Waterstar will be so proud!"" Brookkit said. Glowkit sighed, and just nodded, pretending to agree. ""I can just see it now! Brookstar and Glowstar! Leaders of all four clans!"" She squeaked loudly.

""There you are! Glowkit and Brookkit, get over here right now!"" Their father, Redfur, yowled at them. He dove into the water, and swam towards them. ""Do you know how many patrols have been searching for you two?!"" He hissed. Brookkit looked down at her paws. Glowkit sighed, and glanced over at Brookkit. ""Did you make it all the way to the other side of the lake? By yourselves?"" He asked. Brookkit nodded.

""It was my idea..."" Brookkit confessed. ""It even almost got Glowkit killed... he slipped off one of the stepping stones and I helped him up... he wanted to go home! Please, don't get him in trouble! It... was all my idea..."" She said, looking up at Redfur. He sighed, and shook his head.

""Come here. I'll get you guys back to camp."" He said, lifting them onto his back. ""Hold on, okay?"" He said, then felt sharp pricks in his back from their claws. He swam all the way back to camp, where Snakestream was waiting. ""Found them."" He said, as Snakestream lifted them off his back.

Snakestream curled her tail around her two kits, as Redfur got out of the water. He shook his fur out, and Brookkit squeaked as water splashed her. ""Glowkit, you're soaked!"" Snakestream said, picking them up. ""I'm taking you two back to camp. Do not leave camp again, got it?"" She growled at them. ""Not until you're apprentices! You aren't supposed to leave camp, nonetheless the island!"" She added.
