Zane couldn't help but shiver when he felt the night air slam itself into his skin. His two mystery rescuers didn't stop, but kept him walking until he felt himself step off the curb onto the side of the road. He could hear cars flying in front of them, a few even honking their horns. "Where are we going", Zane couldn't help but ask.

"Away from here", the voice behind him answered quickly, then mumbled, "What's taking them so long?"

   Them?

"Probably traffic", the voice in front of Zane answered. "Picnic's tomorrow, remember?"

The voice behind Zane mumbled something else, but he couldn't make out what they said. I hope I'm making the right choice, Zane tried to assure himself. These people may have saved me, but why? Is this another trick from the president? Is he just to toy with me?

Zane caught the sound of a car pulling up in front of him. He heard a door slide open as he was pulled and pushed forward. Another hand grabbed him by his collar and almost lifted him off the ground, setting him down on hard, metal ground. "Get going!", one of the voices ordered.

The car lurched forward, going straight. "What took you two so long?", one of the voices asked.

"There was a jam up the road from you", a new voice answered. "We couldn't get past it, so we took a shortcut."

"That was the shortcut, dingus", the voice behind Zane said.

"We figured that out", another new voice said. This one was clearly a young female's. "So we took another shortcut, and that led us to you. Hey, where's Joel and Kim?"

"They stayed behind", the voice behind Zane said. "They're keeping an eye on the place till tomorrow."

The blindfold was suddenly pulled off. A small light met Zane's eyes, giving a small glow to his surroundings. I'm... I'm in a van, he realized. A really large van. The next thing he realized was that there was a big, tall, dark man standing in front of him, towering over him. "Welcome aboard, Zane Kealer", his deep voice greeted. He smiled, his white teeth standing out against his dark skin. Zane couldn't help but push himself up against the van's wall. "H-How do you know my name?", he asked, staring up at the big man.

"Don't be scared of him", a young blonde woman said cheerily. Zane recognized her voice as the higher one. "He's just a big teddy bear."

"That doesn't answer his question, Joyce", a voice next to Zane said tiredly. Zane turned around, recognizing the voice as the one who had stayed behind him. It belonged to a tall looking man with dark hair that almost blended in with the darkness. He had little bits of facial hair all up his face, like he hadn't shaved in a while. He held out his hand to Zane. "Name's Luke", he said, "and to answer your question, we got your message that you needed help."

Zane ignored the hand. "You're ReallyFulcrum?", he asked.

"Not us", another voice next to him answered. Zane turned to see a dark haired woman with soft hazel eyes. "We work with ReallyFulcrum. She got your message and sent us here to help."

Zane couldn't help but cock his head slightly. "She?"

"Yep", the driver answered. Zane couldn't really see him, but he could just see brown hairs spiking out from behind the seat. "She'll answer your questions when we get to home base."

"Just sit tight and relax", Joyce said cheerily.

"We'll be there soon", the big dark man said.

Zane didn't know what to think. Was this a stroke of luck? Was he actually being taken to safety? Or was this another trick from President Ben-Judah?
