Tatsuo's POV

Wow. He really just ran out of there. I turned to Ayako, who shrugged at me.

"I'm really sorry about that, I don't know what got into him." She was grinning, but not meeting my eye.

"It's... it's fine." I muttered, strutting over to the pile of boxes Ayako had sorted for me to stack. Much to my surprise, Ayako walked up to me.

"Don't take it personal, dude. He gets like that when he's... in a rush." She, abnormally, placed a hand on my shoulder. "Get to those boxes, and I'll be back soon. Imma get a smoothie with a friend." she smiled, before skipping out the door.

"Okay." I called to her back as the door swung shut.

I shook my head and rolled my eyes. I bent down to reach for the box of CDs, the interaction with Ayako's colourful friend rolling around in the intense waves of my mind.

Plucking CDs out of the box handfuls at a time and filing them into specific shelves, my thoughts running me wild.

He had been decked out with rainbows and clouds, but man, he was adorable.

I couldn't believe I thought that, but he did have a very nice face.

I mentally scolded myself. I hated opening up.

But the melody in my head didn't want to cease.

4 Hours Later

After unpacking all five boxes, serving about twenty costumers, I sat behind the counter with a ear-plug blasting Sweet Dreams by the Eurythmics in my ear. It was about 3pm, an hour before our closing time. I was usually the first to leave, but Ayako fell ill and I offered to close up.

It was very slow this time of night, so I would probably just sit here until the time came to close. Five minutes later, my music still burning in my head, I got interrupted by the door flinging open violently.

"Ayako, let's go! And by the way, I'm gonna kill--" it was that boy, the one who ran out. I took the headphone out of my ear. I craned my head up, noticing the extremely startled look on his face when he noticed me.

"Oh, I'm sorry... I didn't realize you were here. Where's... where's Ayako?" he stuttered.

I stood, making him jump. I sighed, hanging my head. "Um, she got sick and... she went home early."

He looked apologetic, but I wanted to leave. "Well, it's about time to close." I grabbed the keys from the counter and shoved my phone and headphones into my pocket.

He sighed back at me. "Listen, I'm really sorry. That was rude, running of like that. I..."

"I'm used to it." I spat.

He followed me out the door, and as I locked up, he kept talking.

"I was rude. I am really sorry. Let me make it up to you." he begged.

"You don't even know me." I told him.

Then, as if a light bulb had gone of in his head, Juwon grinned brightly. "Well, know you do. I think I might walk you home."

"You don't need to do that." I said quickly.

"Oh, but I do." he smiled. I put my head down, the light drizzle of  evening rain tickling my head. This, this would be a long night.
