A/N I know that school should officially be over by this time but lets just say our favourite besties are doing some summer school, K? Sweet....read on friends!
*A few months later*
As me and Kassidy make our way to the nearby mall she watches me with a smile on her face, "Matt actually invited you to the draft in Vancouver" she exclaims, "yeah he said he wants me there" I reply while biting my lip, "awwww that's so cute" she says, "that's why I needed to go get a dress today, the draft is in a month" I tell her as I focus on the road, "we are going to find the best dress out there for this occasion" Kassidy says excitedly. Once I park the car I grab my wallet, keys and phone before getting out, Kassidy does the same and we walk side by side to the mall entrance.
A few minutes later we find ourselves in a dress store, the two os us go to opposite sides of the store and start going through the racks. I spot a light purple dress that looks cute so I grab it so that I can try it on, later I find myself with an armful of dresses as I walk to the fitting rooms, Kassidy follows me with her own selection of dresses. About halfway through the piles i'm ready to give up, feeling as if nothing is fitting right, "J how's it going in there?" Kassidy yells, "horribly" I reply hopelessly as I take another dress off, "babe I think I have the winner, i'm going to toss it over the door" she explains before white fabric comes over the door, I sigh but take the fabric before sliding it on. I walk out of the room and into the waiting area, I hear a gasp so I turn to Kassidy, "Jen you look amazing you have to see yourself" she exclaims with wide eyes, I do as she says turning to the full length mirror. My eyes widen at my reflection, I turn a few different ways admiring the pleated skirt and the crossed over straps (dress below),

"this is the one" I say with a huge smile coming to my face, "you aren't wrong about that" my best friend exclaims, "Matt won't see it coming" she adds making me laugh. "I'm so over shopping, when I get out of this lets go get something to eat" I say to her, "amen to that sister" she replies and I walk back to the fitting room and change back into my casual clothes from earlier.
We end up deciding on going to Chipotle, which ends up being inside the mall, we order and then pay before finding a table where we could eat our food. I sigh happily as I sit down for the first time today, remind me to never go dress shopping ever again" I tell Kassidy, "I don't know babe, you will need to get a wedding dress in the future" she replies with a smirk, "woah it's way too soon to be thinking about that" I say, "i'm just saying that will be another dress shopping trip" she exclaims with a shrug, "whatever lets just get through school first" I tell her before starting to eat my meal. "So are you guys flying to Vancouver together?" she asks once we finish eating, "yeah, but when we get there Matt will have to go do some media stuff before the draft" I explain, "busy guy you have there" she tells me, "I know, but i'm so proud of him, I don't mind" I say with a smile, "when you're at the draft you gotta update me on whats happening" she exclaims, "you know that was the plan the whole time" I say with a laugh, "just making sure" she tells me. "We better go we've been here way too long" I say as I stand up while grabbing my bags, "that sounds great to me" she exclaims before following my lead as we leave the mall.

When we walk into our house later I take my dress out of the shopping bag and proceed to hang it in my closet, I smooth it down with a smile. Once I finish with that I change into my favourite pair of sweatpants and slip on one of Matt's hoodies before flopping down onto my bed. When I start to get comfy my phone vibrates, I groan but moves my arms to try and feel my phone, when I finally feel the cold metal I grab it and lift it over my face, I smile when I see that Matt wants to FaceTime with me. I accept the call and smile when my handsome boyfriend appears on my screen, "hey Matty" I say, "hello gorgeous" he replies, "what are you up to superstar?" I ask, "nothing, I was bored so I called you" he replies, "well I finally found a dress for the draft" I exclaim with a big smile, "want to give me a peek?" he asks me, "nope it's a surprise, but Kass is positive that you will love it" I exclaim, "ughhh but that's such a long wait" he tells me with a pout, "it will be worth it, believe me" I say. "I wish you were here" I add, he perks up at the statement, "i'll be there in 10" he exclaims as I watch him get up from his bed, "you don't actually have to come" I say, "but I want to" he explains, I shrug, "I guess i'll see you soon" I tell him, he gives me a thumbs up before hanging up the call.
True to his words the doorbell rings 10 minutes later. I run to the front door, I smile when I swing open the door to see Matt waiting on the doorstep. "hi gorgeous" he says before pulling me in for a sweet kiss, once I pull away I smile, "I wouldn't say gorgeous" I exclaim while looking down at my sweats and hoodie, "you are always gorgeous, especially in my clothing" he replies before tugging at the hoodie i'm wearing, I blush before hitting his shoulder, "oh shut up" I say, he laughs and I take his hand before leading him into the house. Matt greets Kassidy who is on the couch with a smile before tugging me to my bedroom I laugh as he peppers kisses all over my face, he tugs me onto the bed and brings me to his chest, I snuggle into his body heat happily. We spend the rest of the evening snuggled up in bed, I eventually fall asleep in his arms without a care in the world.
