~Alex's POV.~
"Dude, have you told her?" Jackson said through the phone's speaker."Not quite." I responded, looking in the mirror as I was combing my hair.
"What do you mean not quite?"
"I wrote my feelings down on paper and gave it to her."
"You WROTE your feelings down? Who writes anymore?"
"Uh, authors."
"Also, how hard is it to say "I love you?"
"Hmm..I don't know. Maybe I should ask the same person who's known a girl since freshman year, and still hasn't asked her out."
"You mean Hannah? I told you, it's not the right time."
"Dude, I'm pretty sure she likes you."
"How can you be so sure?"
"I see her staring at you when we're walking down the hall."
"Oh, like you do with Sophie."
"Dude."
"I'm just saying. And I can't believe you recognize the same girl from SECOND grade."
"Honestly...me neither."
I sighed as I looked in the mirror as I wore a black shirt with blue jeans and a red sweatshirt. My hair was combed a bit to look more ruffled.
"Whatever you're wearing, I bet you look great, dude." Jackson says.
I smile.
"Thanks man."
~Sophie's POV.~
The moment I got home, John had immediately went to his room and only came down for dinner, before going back upstairs.
Girl problems at 10. So sad..
Meanwhile, I couldn't even open my book bag (specifically the middle pocket), because well.... you know.
He had put something in there!!!
I was nervous, ok?
I paced around my room for a few minutes, until I yelled.
"Screw it!"
I then tossed my book bag on my bed, opened the middle pocket, and reached in to grab whatever was in there. I was surprised to pull out a crumbled piece of paper.
The same sheet of paper I had tossed at him. Why did he give it to me?
I decided to open up the paper just to look at our earlier conversation, until I noticed a new reply.
Sophie, I don't want to like any other girls. I want to like YOU. You're the most amazing, beautiful, and talented girl I've ever met. I remember when I first saw you in second grade when I first fell in love with you, and I'm not ashamed to say that I'm in love with you now.
I reread the note over and over again.
Dang, he really is in love with me. Although, there was one thing that puzzled me.
What does he mean by when he first saw me in second grade? He's known me that long?
I suddenly jumped when I heard a tap on my window. Before I could respond, I saw Alex climb through my window.
"Sorry, I wanted to see you-" he stopped when he noticed the note in my hand.
He sighed.
"Guess you read the note."
