I saw black.
I felt my hands go numb combined with the screams of the innocent people surrounding me.
My naked body was held up by chains linked from the ceiling.
That's what I knew was true at that moment.
~Two Days Prior~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I entered the unfamiliar classroom, head drooping low as I felt every single pupils eyes on me.
I stood at the front of the class, not making any attempt to make eye contact with anyone in the class. The class of 30 were talking.
I could hear them talking about me.
My platinum blonde hair was flooding down my shoulders to my waist with perfectly thick curls. When my blue green eyes finally met with the classes, I straightened my grey skirt and flattened my blouse. "This is Charlotte she moved from Ireland to China and then to New Zealand ."
"Ok then Charlotte would you please present something about your country."
"well in Ireland you have drunk dudes following you home sometimes some of them have bad intentions while following you but you just have to punch them in the throat and they leave straight away" Everyone let out a laugh, lifting my mood.
I was the kind of person who didn't really get along with people, I liked to keep it to myself; Isolate myself if you will. I nodded at the teacher as he pointed to a seat in the far left of the room, it was barely in the vision of the teacher. Thank god.
As I made my way to the back of the classroom, everyone was looking at me, some making whistling sounds as I took my seat and flipped my hair out of my pale face. The seats were hard but I lucky enough to get one that was a little bit differently styled compared to the rest of the classes.
As the teacher begun his lecture, pretty much boring me even more with each word, I felt a tap on my shoulder. A student from behind me, a rather smiley looking girl began to whisper under the teachers lesson.
"So your the new kid aye? I think its best that you stay away from Fletcher, he's a real creep and people say that he says really messed up shit if you try to talk to him. I've also heard that hes a playboy."
I nodded, not really listening to what the teacher said as I considered the comment as a challenge. A challenge to get to know this kid. As you can tell I am pretty competitive and I love the competition whenever its around. I am quite athletic and I guess that's where I get it from.
I suddenly heard my name, "Charlotte!" A deep voice shouted from across the room. I snapped my head back to face the teacher who was yelling at me.
"Do you mind solving the question that's on the board? I hope you were paying attention."
I got up from my seat again, everyone looking at me this time. This time everyone was shocked when I shot them a glare as I approached the white board. I studied the equation and then I began to write.
I could hear the chatter behind me as I began to solve the complex question, my brain was hard at work as the pen glided across the white board.
When I was finished, the teacher was speechless and so was the class, I hoped that I would get Fletchers attention, he fixed his glasses that rested on his nose as he looked over my way. I looked away with my face reddening with each second.
"Gabby your lucky she saved your ass." The teacher said once I was finished.
The girl , Gabby, who was talking to me was quite the chatter box. Because of her I got in trouble and embarrassed myself in front of the class. As I approached my seat, I shot bullets to Sophie, she looked away as if nothing had ever happened. God I was going to have a grudge with this girl. Her dark brown locks reached just below her shoulders, her dark brown eyes and smile lit up the room when she widened her grin.
When I sat back down and the teacher began to talk again, I felt another tap on my shoulder. God I was going to turn around and stab this kid.
"Thanks for that." She whispered under the teachers lecture.
I turned around to speak the first words today.
"Don't talk to me, because of you I got in trouble with the teacher." I growled quietly.
She looked at me and her face drained.
"Well you obviously didn't because the teacher didn't give you detention." She said with some attitude within her voice. I juts rolled my eyes and carried on with the lecture.
My had was hurting by the time that we were finished for the day and when the bell rung for lunch, I was so happy to finally get out of there. So far I had made only half a friend, I wouldn't really consider Gabby a friend because she was jut a pain in my ass.
I pretty much leapt from my seat, ecstatic that the morning periods were over. I quickly gathered my things and headed out the door, I was ignoring the fact that people were following me probably to see what kind of a person I was but let me tell you that I was not really a friendly type.
As I walked down the halls, I was suddenly stopped by someone bumping into me. I was getting ready to curse them out but I wasn't fast enough, he bet me to it.
"What the fuck? Watch where your going." He said. His blonde curls were perfectly swirled on his head and his glasses were a disguise.
"How about you? You weren't watching where you were going either." I replied.
He didn't say anything, just bumped my shoulder and walked past. God what a jerk. I guess Gabby was right about being a dick, that was something that he definitely was. I made my way to the outside seating areas where I sat down by myself and began to take a bite out of my peanut butter sandwich. While I stared out onto the school grounds, I felt a presence watching me, I didn't really think much of it until I decided to look around and spot Fletcher watching me from afar.
Fucking creep.
He had a stare as if he was in a trance but it was hard to see him through the tree branches that hid him. He watched me for about 5 minutes before slowly backing away, he wouldn't take his eyes off me the entire time. His eyes were locked on mine.
Despite this, I didn't say anything, his look was enchanting and for some reason, my words that I wanted to say wouldn't come out of my mouth.
I didn't even notice Gabby come and sit next to me with her sushi laid out on her lap. She gave me a smile. I mean I didn't want to deal with Fletcher by myself and though I wasn't a people person, I had an eerie feeling about this guy but I shook it off as just we got off on the wrong foot.
"So hows your first day? Doesn't seem to be going well considering you are all alone." She asks.
"I have always enjoyed being by myself, I like the silence." I reply.
I didn't say anything else after that because the bell had rung and I was finished my lunch. When I looked into the trees to look for Fletcher looking at me, He was no where to be seen. I just figured that he wanted to get to class early.
