When the bell rung for the end of the day, I lazily got up from my chair, gathering up my school supplies and putting them into my bag.
"Don't forget to finish your assignments, Friday is the dead line." The teacher announced as he held up a folder.
I heaved my loaded bag on my back and began to walk out of the classroom, my feet dragging behind me when I walked. I prepared a hair tie on my wrist and began to gather my hair up into a bun, I liked having my hair out but when I do sports I don't like it to be flopping around in my face.
I had dance practice at 5 and despite it only being 3 o clock, I wanted to get some early practice. I made my way over to the dance room, my legs felt like they were going to give in. Why did I have to agree to this dance performance, if I knew it was going to be a hassle trying to juggle it with school then I would have just said no.
I opened the door to the dance room and got a little startled when I saw a figure in the room already; In the dark, like they were waiting for me. When the face was revealed that it was Gabby, I breathed a sigh of relief. I hoped it wasn't that creepy guy Fletcher, he had been following me all day. I was really starting to get pissed so next time he comes near me, I'll tell him who he's messing with.
"Oh, Gabby its you." I said as I put my bag down and stood in the middle of the room; approaching Gabby.
"I guess it is." She laughed as she tied her hair into a messy pony tail, I assumed we were both doing solos at the dance performance but it strange to me because I never saw her sign up.
"So you doing the dance performance?" I ask as I grab my P/E gear out from my back and head to the changing rooms. She follows me with her stuff wrapped around her shoulders.
"Actually no, I just enjoy dancing but since my family can't afford any kind of performance fees, I just dance alone after school before you people come in and practice."
I nod as we hang our stuff up in our lockers, I begin to change into my dance clothes, I wore a simple crop top and shorts and Gabby wears a pair of leggings and a crop top. I was going to be buggered after today, like juggling school with this dance performance was going to be easy.
We re-enter the dance room, a mirror to our left and a simple DJ booth in the corner for music.
"So lets see what you got." Gabby says as she runs over to the DJ booth and plays a song. I begin to move to the beat, showing off all my best tricks as I glide across the floor. She played a slow song and it was graceful and elegant. I actually dig the tune of the song, even though I have never heard it before.
By the time I had finished dancing, I was exhausted and I wanted to drop dead. Gabby had left for the clock had hit 5, another hour of dancing was in order. God kill me now.

When I had pretty much collapsed from exhaustion, I rummaged through my bag and just put a hoodie on over top of my sweaty body. It was going to be freezing outside because it is winter, it tends to get really dark fast so I tried to get home as quick as possible.
I knew it was a bad idea to walk home alone when it was dark and cold, I guess I never learned from peoples mistakes in movies; I watch too many of them.
I felt a presence behind me when I reached the bridge that allows you across a large flowing river. The cold air made it look like I was puffing smoke, I walked faster hoping to warm up myself a little more. At this point it had started to rain and I was just getting annoyed at my own bad luck.
The strange aura that lingered behind me was enough to make my heart go faster, I just walked, my neck stiff and my legs cramping. I just needed to get home in one piece, just don't look back. Just don't look back, don't look back. The words played on and on in my head in a loop, that was the only thing I was focused on; the cold footsteps that followed me from behind.
