You, Me, and Riley

chapter 22

I was really nervous as we finished lunch and Mom cleaned up the mess I made while eating. I had been talking to Scott, Jessica, and Andrew during lunch and they seemed pretty cool. It was weird talking to littles when I was big but if I ever felt comfortable enough to be little around them I think we could have a lot of fun. I kept looking back at Hayden and Dana as I walked to the playground and when I made it the slide I looked and saw that the three littles had been waiting for me.

"You don't have to be scared of us ya know." Jessica said causing me to trip over my own feet when I realized she wasn't little anymore. "We just want to be friends."

"I'm n-not scared." I said sounding totally convincing "I'm just kinda new to being a little and I've never been around other littles before. So, I'm a little nervous."

"I get it." She said pointing towards the swings "I was nervous when I first met Sherri and Mike. Andrew and Scott already lived with them and they were boys, so I was kind of the third wheel for a while. But it gets better I promise!" She said as we sat down on the swings and we started rocking back and forth.

"What's it like having brothers?" I asked peering through the chain at her as she snorted.

"Most of the time it's cool but sometimes its annoying." She said rolling her eyes with a smile. "Andrew is 19 and about five in little space and when Scott is 18 and when fully slips he's younger than a year. I'm 20 and I'm three, so none of us are the same age but we still have a lot of fun together."

"I can ima—" I started to say before I was interrupted

"Essica watter you doin?" Scott asked running over to us and jumping up and down in front of us.

"I'm talking to Riley for a little bit" She said glancing around the playground until she found Andrew. "Go play with Andy on the slide for a little bit."

"He bein mean. No wanna play wif me no more." Scott said with a shrug. "He push me and say go way. So I play wif you now."

"I don't know what his deal is lately." She said looking at me with a sigh "He's been real mean for last couple of weeks."

"it's okay" I said with a small smile "we can play with him."

"Yaaaaaa." Scott cheered running to the jungle gym.

I looked up at Hayden and Dana as I got off the swing and saw that they were watching us with big smiles on their faces. I rolled my eyes with a laugh as I turned to follow Scott and Jessica towards the playground and stopped standing next to her. I studied her as she started to fidget and smiled as I looked back at Scott climbing the stairs.

"You don't have to stay big for me." I said as Jessica quickly looked at me and then back at Scott. "I'll be okay watching."

"That's okay." Jessica said with a strained smile.

"Seriously Jessica." I said lightly pushing her shoulder "Go play with Scott."

"You sure?" She asked looking at me as she started to walk towards the playset. I nodded my head as she turned around and ran towards Scott "Ait fo meeee." She yelled with a laugh.

I started to sit down in the sand when someone ran up behind me and pushed me hard in the back making me fall forward and fall face first in the sand. "Ow." I cried as I started to spit the handful of sand from my mouth "Why you do that?" I asked looking up at Andrew as I rolled over and sat on my bottom (still spitting out sand.)

"You bein stupid!" Andrew yelled pushing me back down as I tried to stand up. "Why won't you be little?" He asked as my chin started to tremble, and I looked over at Mama and Mommy who were laughing with Sheri and Mike.

"I jus don wanna be." I said starting to slip as I looked up at Andrew "I go see Mama an Mommy now."

"Are you going to be a tattle tale?" He asked in a mocking voice. But I could see his eyes get big and that he got a little nervous.

"I no say notin." I said standing up and running to Mommy and Mama.

"Hey baby, are you having fun?" Mommy asked as I ran into her arms. I shook my head and started to cry causing Mommy to quickly pull my head out of her neck and look at me with big eyes. "What happened?" She asked in a panic. As she started to whip the sand and tears from my face.

I shook my head and flung my arms around her shoulders burying my head in her neck before I felt Mama rub my back. "You have to tell us what happened baby." She said.

I sat up and looked behind me to see Andrew looking at us from the playground "Notin happen." I said in a whisper before I dropped my head on Mommy's chest and tried to put my thumb in my mouth.

"Your hands are dirty baby." Mommy said as reached into my bag and grabbed my nuk handing it to me.

"Riley" Sheri said lowering her head to look at me "Did something happen between you and Andrew?"

My mouth opened in surprise causing my Nuk to fall out as I looked up at her with big eyes "noooo" I said in a high-pitched voice as I buried my head in Mommy's chest. How did she know? I thought to myself.

"I saw her looking at the playground." I heard Sheri quietly said "And coincidentally he was looking back at her."

A few minutes later I heard Mike walk up and sit down next to us saying "Andrew do you want to tell us what happened on the playground with Riley, one chance, no lies."

I looked up from Mommy's chest and saw Andrew glaring at me and quickly said "I no say notin, I pwomise!" I looked up at Mommy with big eyes as Sheri and Mike stood up and walked Andrew away from us.

"Is Riley okay?" Jessica asked running up to us and sitting in front of us. "I looked away for like 3 seconds and when I looked back again she was gone. I'm so sorry Hayden and Dana."

"It's not your job to look after her honey." Dana said rubbing her shoulder.

"I know but—still." She said looking down at me "Are you okay Ri?" She asked

"You big gain?" I asked her causing her to laugh.

"Yeah Riley." She said with a smile "I can go from big and little really easy if I want to."

"We go pay now?" I asked looking at Mommy and Mama.

"Of course you can, but let me get the rest of this sand off your face." Mommy said reaching into my bag for a wet wipe.

As Mama finished wiping my face and I got up to follow Jessica to the playground (who was little again) Andrew walked up looking at the ground and stopped in front of me "I'm sorry I pushed you and called you stupid Riley. That wasn't nice of me and I won do it again." He said with a sniffle looking up at me.

"It's kay Andy." I said giving him a hug "I give you. Do you wanna go pay wif me and Essica now?" He looked at me with a small smile before he nodded his head and followed Jessica and me onto the playground.
