I woke up to the sound of waves crashing against the shore. I checked my phone , it was 5:00 A.M. Well,I guess that's what I get for going to sleep at 7:00 p.m. And after about 30 minutes,I had managed to get out of bed. I strode over to the window and looked out. The sun was just starting to rise, peaking out just above the waves. So,overall it was gorgeous.

I knew the rest of the day would be spent unpacking boxes so I decided to go surfing for a while. My bathing suit was a plain blue one-piece with ruffles on the edge. It was good enough, but I preferred grey. I walked down the stairs and into the garage where my surfboard was, waiting to be rode once again. It once was a bright orange but now from the aging and harsh waves it was a faded orange with a sea turtle imprinted in the middle.

I loved it. I grabbed the board and dusted all the sand off it. Then continued to run out to the ocean. The salt stenched air cleared my senses making me more alert, aware. The soft squishy sand padded my feet as I ran towards the vast sea before me. The waves were big today larger than usual in the little town of Cape San Blast,FL. Today, was probably the only day for really good surfing. I walked into the water, careful not to step on any rocks. From there,I paddled out past the sandbar to the drop off.

I caught a few good waves, but not as many as I thought I would. Other people were surfing today also, enjoying the nice weather. Just as I was about to paddle in, a monster wave formed behind me. I paddled fast hoping to 1.catch and ride the wave for fun and 2. Not get crushed by it. Thankfully, number 1 happened. I caught the wave and started riding the barrel. I knew as soon as I started to ride it I wasn't going to make it. But determined I kept my balance and tried to get through the tube. But it was too late the wave started to crash with me still inside it.

The wave crashed pulling me under
I hit a rock with mind boggling force. Then I started to bleed. Oh God no, I'm too deep out here to bleed. I'm going to die I tried to get back to the surface. But the waves kept pushing me down. I couldn't catch my breath. The sharks are going to eat me,I'm running out of air. Think. Annabeth think. But It was kind of hard when you were getting pushed under the water every 2 seconds. The best plan I had was to wave my arms. I did my best to scream but I needed air so that didn't really work.

I did this for about 10 minutes.

Then, I was so tired. My arms burned with exhaustion. My lungs also burned begging for air. My left shoulder seared with pain. I relaxed, I mean, the sharks were going to eat me anyway right? Then I felt something pull me up. It was strong too,It must be the sharks I thought. Then I passed out.
