LEE DONGHYUCK WAS in town, slowly but surely making his way back to the place he called home with a bag swinging at his side. a heavy jacket was bundled around him, his cheek painted pink and his breaths fogging as they left his lips. the sky was cloudy, the air cold, and—of course—small tiny snowflakes were falling from the sky. the pavement was kind of slippery. well, very slippery. and it was so so cold.

did anyone mention it was cold?

small flakes of snow nestled in his hair, the stark white contrasting with natural black. his hands were shoved into his pockets, clammy and cold, fumbling with a few coins (that he didn't tell his dad he had). the boy picked up his pace, eager to reach the warmth and comfort of his bed.

donghyuck looked around. he hated to admit, but he was kind of lost. he tugged down on his clothes, finding his jacket a bit uncomfortable due to all of the condensation seeping through it.

it wasn't like donghyuck had any other jackets. but he wasn't really complaining.

he sighed.

donghyuck was snapped out of his thoughts when a curse came from beside him, and suddenly a strong arm yanked him away from the pavement. a couple of wet leaves broke his fall as he was pulled into a bush, and immediately he turned his head to the side.

a younger boy was staring at him with a fixed glare, an almost disapproving expression on his face.

the boy let out a puff of air. "you idiot. you absolute idiot."

donghyuck's eyebrows drew together and he looked back to where he'd previously been walking, his expression soon turning confused.

three men dressed in heavy trench coats walked down the sidewalk, and they looked around. the bottom portion of their faces were all concealed by masks. after a minute of inspection the men then continued on their not-so-merry way.

the appearance and mannerism of them all looked familiar to donghyuck, yet in the moment he couldn't exactly pinpoint where he had seen them.

beside him the person gritted his teeth and yanked on donghyuck's sleeve, standing up. he spat into the snow.

"come on. stupid. you're going to get frostbite sitting in the snow with. . ." he looked donghyuck up and down, judgment upon his face. "that kind of attire."

donghyuck looked down at his pants that now sported wet patches, and he huffed.

the other boy grabbed donghyuck's arm again, his sleeve-covered hand enclosing around the other's wrist. he pulled donghyuck along as he began to walk through the snow and down a driveway.

"where are we going?" donghyuck questioned. "and, who are you?"

the boy stopped and stared at donghyuck coldly, before continuing to walk.
