Chapter 2: Phonecall

Following Morning

"Seokjin Hyung really worries about you, Kook." 

Jungkook inhales and exhales sharply, listening to his soon to be brother-in-law speak on the phone.

"I'm okay, Namjoon Hyung! I am not in a hurry to be in a relationship."

Namjoon chuckles and Jungkook swears he can hear the smirk on his hyung's face. "You're so stubborn, Jungkook-ah. Anyone who ends up with you will be the luckiest person in the world."

Jungkook opens his mouth to disagree with this, just as the one and only Taehyung walks in. His heart clenches and the air conditioner that he had installed in his office earlier must have been really working because his arms were covered in goosebumps.

Taehyung's eyes widen once he realizes that Jungkook is on the phone, causing the small boy to mouth a quick 'sorry' before tiptoeing all the way to his desk in an unnecessary manner which causes a small smile tug at the corners of Jungkook's lips.

"As I was saying before, Kook...Seokjin really worries about you. You know how he is, he feels guilty about getting married while you're still single."

Before Jungkook can say anything, Namjoon speaks up again.

"All of your friends are married or engaged, while you're just...how do I say this without sounding rude?" Namjoon trails off. The younger man sighs. "Jungkook-ah, you're-"

"Lonely." Jungkook finishes.

Namjoon feels bad for indirectly saying what was on his mind until Jungkook quickly changes the subject.

"This is something that Jin shouldn't have to worry about, Hyung."

"Try telling him that, he's literally prepared a list of people for you to be set up on a date with."

Jungkook can't help the annoyed groan that escapes his now parted lips. He doesn't want his older brother to do this to him. What did Seokjin think his life was, anyway? The Golden Maknae's Bachelor Life? Or how about something more accurate: The Lonely life of Jeon Jungkook.

Jungkook can suddenly feel Taehyung's worried eyes on him, and he looks in his direction. As he predicted, the older man's gaze was fixated on him, the concern visible in his eyes. Jungkook shakes his head and nods as if to say he was okay (although Taehyung knew he wasn't) and he continued the phone call.

"Namjoon I'm (not) sorry to break it to you, but a client is calling me on another line. We'll have to continue this discussion later, bye Hyung."

With that said and done, Jungkook hung up the phone despite Namjoon's annoyed 'Don't you dare hang up the phone!' and 'Jungkook noooo!'s. 

Jungkook then turned around in his black swivel chair, gasping when he noticed Taehyung was standing in front of him.

"So," Tae begins, "What was it this time?"

The young maknae lets out a defeated sigh. "According to Namjoon Hyung, Jin has been worrying about my non-existent relationships. Or how he likes to put it- my 'lonely life'." Taehyung feels a pang in his chest and begins to pity Jungkook, a set of pink pouty lips on display.

"You're not lonely!" the blonde haired male exclaims. "You have me!"

Jungkook sighs. "That's what I was trying to tell them-"

Taehyung narrows his eyes at him. "You do realize that I was listening to the conversation, correct?" The brunette scoffs. "Ugh, fine. But still, I do have you. I also have Yoongi and Hoseok Hyung, that's all I need."

Taehyung can't help but smile at what his boss had said. Then a thought crosses his mind as he watches Jungkook abruptly stand up from where he was seated, walking towards his filing cabinet.

"Hey, Jungkook?" he begins. The younger brunette searches through his files not sparing his hyung a glance responding with a simple "Yeah?"

"Isn't Namjin's wedding soon?" Jungkook nods, and before he knows it, hell, even before Taehyung expects it himself, the words fly out of Tae's mouth. 

"Let me be your boyfriend for the wedding!"
