Mard'e is our Balinese friend, he is really nice because he does so much for us, he picks us up from Denpasar airport every year and spends all our holiday driving us wherever we like to go. Mard'e spends so much time with me messing about in the pool, out shopping and keeping me safe. He means a lot to me because he always makes me giggle and l really love spending time with him.
Even though Mard'e does not have much he has one thing that I really love and that is his love of life and his big smile whenever he sees me.
This year we got to go and spend time in Mard'e little village Lovina and spend time with his wife Komang and his brand new little baby Nie Patu. I got to give the baby so many hugs and kisses, she is so beautiful. Mum, dad, Jamisen and myself have been buying things all year for Nie Patu which we took over with us on the plane. We got so much it filled a few suit cases, we got her nappies, clothes, formula, dummies, lots of bottles as well as a new portable cot for her to sleep in instead of the floor mattress she had. When we got there, there were so many people there to see the gifts we had and to meet us. We are so lucky to have Mard'e and his family in our life it helps us to see what we have here at home and how little that Mard'e has at his home but he still smiles every day.
Not long after we got there I noticed there were a lot of kids turning up, so I then asked mum and dad if I was allowed to go play they said yes and we all had so much fun playing soccer, running and laughing. It was so much fun even though we didn't know what we were saying to each other we worked it out and just had fun. Because I have been lucky enough to be going to Bali since I was 1 year of age I have started to pick up some of the key words like, sama- sama (your welcome), terima kasih (thankyou), selamat pagi (good morning), selamat sore (good afternoon), ayah (dad) and ibu (mum).
This year Mard'e went dolphin watching with us and we were really thankful that he organised it with one of his friends that had his own boat. Mard'e and I were able to sit right up the front we got to see so many wild dolphins.
