Louis reached for his dirty white football boots from his sports bag resting beside him. he slid them on and instantly felt at home wearing them. It had been a half a year since he had played a competitive game but finally, the season had started. Louis pulled the laces as tight as they would go to fit around his tiny feet.

"Hurry up Louis! The whole team's out here already!" Yelled a small Irish voice from outside the changing room. "I'm coming Niall! just let me fill up my water bottle." Louis groaned back.

Niall was his mate but he ruined Louis' moment that he was peacefully having before getting on the muddy football field with his friends in the bleachers and his coach on the sideline both equally doing the same amount of yelling at him for doing something either very right or very wrong.

The door flung open and Niall barged in. His dyed blonde hair had been blown around in the wind and was a mess. Louis looked up at him and smiled at the fact he was still good looking even when his hair looked like a birds nest. Louis always thought Niall was cute but he was way more attracted brunettes.

Louis and Niall had been Best friends since Primary school and although Louis admired Niall's cute flare he had never considered dating him he knew it would be way to weird and he wasn't into Niall like that.

Niall stood in the doorway watching Louis slowly finish tying his lace into a double knot.

"Oh for god's sake Louis speed it up! Coach is starting to get pissed now!" Niall blurted.

"Alright,  Alright, I'm coming, I'm coming" Louis replied in his thick Donny accent.

Niall walked over to Louis and grabbed his water bottle out of his bag.

"Here I'll fill this up for you so we can get moving."

"Thanks, bud!" Louis exclaimed as he hopped to his feet.

Niall returned from the tap and chucked Louis his bottle. The hard breeze caught Louis by surprise as he slowly jogged outside into the windy Doncaster winter following Niall to the field where the rest of their team was already warming up.

"Come on lads let's get to it!" yelled their Coach Geoff.

He was Liam's dad and had been coaching the three of them since they started school. They were the teams strongest players and well known around school for their football skills. Louis was the best defender in the league and Liam and Niall were prized strikers.

"First game of the season! we need a strong start if we want to qualify for Nationals! So move it over there and get a decent warm up!" Geoff continued.

Louis and Niall headed over to Liam and started passing the ball between the three of them. The team finished warming up and set up their shape for the game. the game was against St. Albert, they were always the easiest to beat but today they were putting up a fight.

The Boys went to Hall Cross Academy and were arguably the best team in the league. they had won the past two years and Geoff was determined to keep their winning streak going. The boys played hard and won the game 5-1.

"GET IN!" Screamed Liam when the whistle blew.

He had scored three out of their five goals and Niall the other two. Louis laughed and they all joined in for a hug to celebrate their first win of the season.

"Alright, boys gather round!" Coach Geoff yelled.

Louis trailed behind Niall and Liam heading over to the team talk. He held his water bottle between his teeth and glanced over to the field next to theirs where he could see Hall Cross's enemy school, Eastwood collage. they were a public school and always came so close to beating Hall Cross in the final.

They were doing their warm-up preparing for their first game of the season. Louis was about to turn away when he noticed a boy out of the corner of his eye.

He was sitting on the ground by the Eastwood team. He had a leather notebook resting on his lap and a pencil lightly gripped in his hand. his hair was a dark chocolate brown and extremely curly. He was mesmerizing. And he was looking straight at Louis.
