Cheshire
Siegfried's HouseLong curly blonde hair bounced at her back as she walked at the garden watching the butterfly fluttering at the flowers. "Poor creatures, they don't even reach their next birthday", 17 year old, Eleanor Siegfried commented. Her ocean blue eyes scanned the yellow winged butterfly and found it depressing just looking at it. "Yeah, butterflies don't have much to live but they have a wonderful life", a manly voice startled her and stood straight. His eyes are surrounded with wrinkles already. "You're home?", Eleanor turned around and saw a comforting figure. "Ooh, my Elly is out of her room, that's so rare", Albert, Eleanor's father clapped his hand. "Well, I also have to get some air. That's so rare for you to come home this early as well. Did you got fired?", Eleanor joked around. Albert pressed his lips together. "Well, yeah. I kind of flunked with my last operation", he scratched his nape. Eleanor punched his sternum causing him to cough. "I got reassigned", Albert winced in pain and looked at Eleanor's eyes. "So I get to be transferred once again?", the lady sighed. "It's a bit far from here, I'll be assisting in Area 11", Albert answered.
Eleanor and Albert entered the house. The maids are prepared to remove their master's coat. "I already prepared for your luggage, Doctor", the maid informed. Albert looked at his daughter just silently listening.
The night ended. Albert went out of his room and was shocked to see luggage piled up at the living room. "I thought we're leaving. Why are you still in your pajamas?", Eleanor tilted her head. Albert had a weak smile. "You don't have to try so hard. You can stay here", Albert convinced. "I can't promise that area 11 will be a good place to paint", Albert had a deep sigh knowing how strong the resistance is. "Anywhere with you is a good place to paint", Eleanor said with a straight face.
Area 11, Japan
AirportEleanor was left at the alone airport since Albert is already needed. She sat at the lounge and looked around. Just like her, there are some youngsters dragged along because of their parent's work. Her father is a doctor and was asked to assist the military. She stood up and carried her bagpack making her way through the exit. It suddenly rained. She mentally smacked herself for not bringing an umbrella with her. Standing on the entrance, she noticed a lot of scenarios. A woman clinging into a soldier. There's no telling when she can see him again. A child being carried by a man. There's no assurance of the baby's future, it's an era of war afterall. Eleanor decided to draw while waiting. It's been an hour and the rain is still pouring. She became impatient and kept her drawing notebook inside her bag.
She was about to step out of the shaded area when a man lend out an umbrella. "I'll just be around the corner", he passed the umbrella and started to run. Eleanor wasn't able to see the face but he has a distinct feature of brown hair and tall stature. Eleanor looked at the umbrella and felt guilty of making someone run in the rain because of her failure to bring hers.
Ashford Academy
Class 1-1"Since Miss Siegfried just transferred, I hope you're going to entertain her as well", Villeta, a P.E teacher, introduced Eleanor to the class. "She studied at...", Villeta's eyes widened to see so many schools listed under her name. Eleanor gave a bow was instructed to sit at the back since she's also taller than the average girl, 5'7 in height. "I also just transferred here", a blonde man with light aura informed. He's obviously from the Mainland. He's got natural blonde hair and ocean blue eyes. Eleanor just nodded and decided to ignore him. He seems to be the type of male student who flirts around with all the girls. Villeta went out and left the students for their study period. Copper brown woman with velvet eyes turned around and waved at Eleanor. She looks like the classroom's muse. "Nice to meet you, my name is Erika. Feel free to ask me something If you don't understand", she offered her help.Unlike the other guy, this Erika doesn't seem to be full blooded Brit. Eleanor also gave a smile and thanked the girl.
Lunch break came and Erika tagged along with Eleanor. The height difference between the two makes them stand out. Erika being 5 flat. The two of them entered the cafeteria and ordered food. "Say, do you like strawberry milk or mango?", Erika asked. "Blueberry", Eleanor answered. "None of the above then", Erika chuckled. "From what school did you attended back in mainland?", Erika asked. "I studied at home last term", Eleanor answered. "Do you want me to tour you around later?", Erika offered. "Are you an student council? Why do you have to be this helpful?", Eleanor tilted her head. "Well yeah, I'm the year level representative", Erika answered.
Class ended and the students went to their dormitory. Erika noticed Eleanor leaving the gate. "Aren't you in dorms?", Erika asked. "I'm living with my father", Eleanor informed.
Female Dormitory
Room 401"She's such a peculiar girl", Erika lied down her bed and looked at a picture frame. It was a photo of her back in the last and another young boy . Everything changed when she came to Area 11. She's a daughter of an earl at Britain but the fact that her mother is an eleven cannot be hidden. Erika Asher, 18 year old, student council representative. Though she gained respect from others, social status separates her from the rest. She had a wide smile knowing that a transfer student came. She'll do her best to keep her identity in order to make friends with her.
The next day

"Eleanor, you're going to choose a club today. It is in the school policy", Erika leaned on Eleanor's table. "Clubs, let's see. I guess I'll stick with the arts club", Eleanor answered while reading some of Erika's notes. "You're handwriting is pretty neat", Eleanor commented. The girl felt shy all of the sudden. "What's with the arts club?", Erika asked. Eleanor didn't give an answer but just read through the notes. "How about you?", Eleanor asked. "Well, student council is enough but there is someone I look up to. That's why I joined her club", Erika was talking about Shirley and swimming club.Lunch break came and they took lunch break at the rooftop. Only few of the students climb up the 8th floor to eat. Two girls sat on the floor and looked at the sky to make sure it doesn't rain. "Hey, Eleanor, later this afternoon, would you like to watch the swimming club. I'm actually one of the regulars", Erika boasted. "Oh, you're that athletic? You're not that tall", Eleanor munched her food. Erika coughed hearing Eleanor's comment. The copper haired looked at Eleanor and tried to gauge how compatible they can be as friends. She's not that snob, she's not also that energetic. More like the average person. She just laughed at her previous comment. "You are sharp tongued", Erika also commented.
"Say, why did you transfer here again?", Erika asked. "I'm here with my father. Anywhere with him is a good place to draw", Eleanor answered. Erika was startled with her answer. "Why? Did you find that clingy?", Eleanor raised her brow. Erika laughed. "I can't believe you're a papa's girl at your age", Erika teased. Eleanor just looked at her with a poker face. Her eyes are like piercing through her soul. "Then, let's go tour around", Erika panicked.
Chapter end.
