#26: We Are Legends

Lelouch and Suzaku walked at the vast garden on the balcony. This is Marian's, Lelouch's mother's garden. "Brings back memories", Lelouch glanced at every corner. "We'd be going back to Japan to sign the UFN treaty next week", Suzaku checked on his tablet. Lelouch just nodded and sat on the grasses.

Suzaku stood up also appreciating the place. "Time to change your bandage", Eleanor walked towards them. She's wearing white blouse and green skirt. Suzaku kept her close and made her as his medical assistance. "What do you think of the place, Eleanor?", Lelouch asked. The lady looked around. "It's refreshing, your highness", Eleanor stressed on the last two words.

Suzaku and Eleanor stayed at the cottage. "Want me to remove your clothes?", Eleanor tilted her head. Suzaku flinched and loosen his polo and removed it. He looked down Eleanor and can clearly see her face. He smiled hearing that she's still giving sarcastic remarks. "When was the last time you painted?", Suzaku asked. Eleanor looked at pair of emerald eyes. "I forgot, why?", Eleanor returned a question. "I've prepared a canvass at the corner. You might want to stay for a while. We're here for two days, it must've bored you", Suzaku kept all communication away from her. Eleanor removed the bandage and saw a deep wound in Suzaku's chest. "What happened here?", Eleanor asked. "Of course, from fighting", Suzaku chuckled. Eleanor pressed on the wound and he winced. "That was from Knight of One", Suzaku informed. "You planned to be the Knight of One before, right? I heard you and Lelouch talking back in school", Eleanor revealed. "You're unexpectedly around when big news are revealed", Suzaku sighed. "You haven't gave up on gaining independence of Area 11, right?", Eleanor asked. Suzaku gave a weak smile. After changing the bandage, Eleanor braced the guy's waist. "Uhm, you're still a human. That's why I know you're using your reasoning with everything that's happening", Eleanor lets go. Suzaku was frozen. Eleanor stood up and walked at where the canvass is.

She looked at Suzaku still not moving. Did she do something unnecessary? Suzaku's presence is soothing for her this time. It makes her feel that Albert is still around.

"Your Highness, want to be my model?", Eleanor offered. Lelouch wasn't fond of the idea but did it anyways. "Don't move ", Eleanor crossed her hand. She's fearlessly ordering the new Emperor. Well, they were classmates before. There's no way things can change that fast.

Suzaku leaned on the walls and saw the wind playing at Eleanor's hair. He hope to be the best person to provide her whatever he can. He caused her mother and father's dead that's why he'll do his best to take the responsibility.

"Earth provide every man's need but not everyone's greed", Lelouch suddenly opened. Eleanor had a smirk on her face. "What? Do you think that's funny?", Lelouch slightly pouted. Eleanor shrugged. She knows that the two are planning something for the betterment but she can't just pin point how.

Conference room

Gino slammed on the table. The other Brittania turned their back on the current emperor as well. Kallen looked at the golden head and can see his frustration. "I don't want to be here. It's like turning back on my identity as well", Gino opened. Guilford also felt that way but they can't do anything. Scheneizel made a pact with the UFN to throw Lelouch out of the throne. Gino's phone rang.

He went out at the ship's dock.

Erika: Thank goodness you picked up. Hoe are you?

Gino raised his head hearing the voice. He looked up the horizon. Somewhere there, it's Erika. She was asking about his well being and not about the coup de tat.

Erika: Just tell me that you're still doing fine or at least... striving to be.

Gino: Erika, I'm an enemy of the state already. Are you sure of talking to a criminal?

Erika: Rivalz, Nina and  I are waiting for your arrival. Elly, Kallen, Suzaku, Lelouch, and Rolo. We're all waiting for you.

Gino: Erika... Rolo's already dead. Suzaku and Lelouch are traitors. Kallen is a terrorist. Elly....she... I can't even bring her back.

Gino grabbed on the railings and cried.

Erika: Even for just .001% I just want to dream that we can go back to the way we used to be

Gino ended up the call and gritted his teeth. Nothing can bring back the usual days. A hand dropped on him. He turn around and fell on his knees upon seeing someone. "She should be rejoicing now", Gino looked up and saw Albert.

Albert walked with Gino at the ship balcony. "Dr. Here were and here I am, I no longer know who and what am I? I've fought for years in the name of the Holy Britannia", Gino clenched his fist. "Gino, what defines a person?", Albert asked. "I'm not some philosopher like you and your daughter", Gino sighed. "Name? Blood? Citizenship? I guess not. Find that your way", Albert patted his shoulder.

"Doctor, Elly, she's at the Mainland right now. After your disappearance, she enlisted as militar medical assistance", Gino reported. "Why didn't you contacted her?", Gino asked. "The tremor caused me a shorr term amnesia. When I woke up, I'm already at the hands of whom you called terrorist. Being with them, I realized that theyre warm people. The same people who caused me to have sleepless nights taking care if the soldier are...just young people who are begging for their freedom", Albert answered. "Are you asking me to side with them?", Gino asked. "I'm asking you to follow your conscience", Albert gave a weak smile.

The Next Day,

Gino woke up and saw Albert from his window. He's looking at a distant. He went out of the room and joined him. "Elly, she loves the ocean, the fireworks, and fields of flower", Albert informed. "When her mother died, I feel so ashamed of myself. She was stronger, she was more fearless. She met a lot of people just to leave them afterwards", Albert closed his eyes.

"She even took care of the soldiers and they love her", Gino often peeks in to watch her back at the barracks.

Mainland
Pendragon- Suzaku's roo

Eleanor sneezes while changing Suzaku's bandage. "I can feel someone talking about my back", Eleanor felt scared. Suzaku gave a short laugh. Eleanor's sneeze sounded like a cat. "We've talked about this already right. You're going to stay here and continue your study", Suzaki reminded. "I also prepared your house. It'll be back in Cheshire", Suzaku added. Eleanor finished her task and flicked Suzaku's head. "Why does it sound like you're going to disappear?", Eleanor asked. "Well, because...maybe I will. During a war, those who are prepared to shoot should also be prepared to get shot", Suzaku explained. "You're that strong. You're not that easy to kill", Eleanor slapped his back.

"But then, I can't still promise that I'll be back", Suzaku fixed his clothes. "Eleanor, why is it that it's so easy for you to leave people?", Suzaku asked. "As long as they're not dead, and if we're under the same sky, there's always a possibility to meet", Eleanor answered and gave a smile.
