My grandmother didn't lie. The town we were brought to was small. Smaller than other town my mother brought us to hide out in. This town was a cozy mountain town. A place most have probably called how their entire life...but I wasn't so sure I was ready to call this place home- not until I knew.
I started school that monday after we got there. My mom wasted no time enrolling me in classes, trying to normalize the entire situation, but there was no normalizing anything. The same thing was bound to happen again, as it always did. A this point, I was used to having to move around.
I threw my beanie on that morning and got in the car to be dropped off at school. I made sure to keep a low profile when I got into the school. I trailed behind my mother who walked us to the principal's office, catching the attention of most who were there.
While sitting in the principal's office, I couldn't help but just stare around the room while my mother and the man talked.
"She'll be able to keep her hat on here at all times right?" my mother asked. "She's got a rare ear condition."
Rare ear condition...something like that.
"They need to stay protected," she continued.
"Oh yeah, South Park really likes to focus on everyone getting equal treatment, tending to everyone's needs," PC principal replied.
I glanced out the window seeing all the kids passing the hall stare into the office looking at me.
Oh yeah, this place seems just as nosy as the last one. This isn't going to last long at all.
The door suddenly flew open and a lady walked in, holding two boys apart. The one had blond hair and was twitching, and the other was tall with raven hair, holding a bored expression on his face.
"PC principal, I need you to do something about these two," the woman said, sounding fed up.
"AH- I'm s-s-sorry. This is all C-C-Craig's fault," the blonde stuttered.
The raven haired one just flipped him off in response.
"Jessica, can't you see I'm with a new student. Put them out in the hall," the large principal commanded.
The timid girl nodded taking the boys back out to the hall.
"I'm sorry about that. South Park High really isn't like that. It's a place you'll really find yourself to enjoy. Shall we go over your schedule real quick?" he asked.
