I finally finished packing. Took me a few hours but it's done. I know, a few hours to in pack your room? Well nope, I ended doing most of the house while my mom and Cassandra went grocery shopping and to finalize some papers. I passed on going to make sure everything was put together, and to unpack everything I would know where to put. Yay!- the was sarcasm by the way, gotta love that.
As soon as I'm downstairs again after unpacking the hall bathroom, I get a text from my old bud from my last hometown. "Wattup dude", was all it said. For the strangest reason I got happier.
Well, not strangely, he was always lifting my spirits up. I reply with my usual, "whattup, what are you doing." I know, basic but is okay, we know eachother a bunch we don't need it put much into our texts because we know if somethings bad or not.
"Nothing, just got back from dropping off my papers at the school, how about you?" He sends back, to which I sit in the couch, and send back a, "Just finished unpacking, tried and hungry."
After a few minutes and no reply, I assume he's eating since he usually eats late and I'm two hours behind his time. At this, I decide to get something to eat, and try to figure out what to eat. I could wait for my mom and Cassandra to come back, but that could take some time.
That's when I remember that pizza place down the street. I don't think it's that far, so I'll go walk. It's actually a bit chilly out here, so I decide to grab my four from the y'all closet and head down the steps, through the shop, lock up the place and head down the street. I put on my coat as soon as I walk out the door, out my earphones on and music on, and walk.
It's half past 12 when I get there, so it's not too crowded. I walk up to the waiters booth to get a table, and am greeted with a guy around my age, curly, not too short hair that swoops to the side.
Followed by a smile, he questions me with, "Hello, welcome to our fine establishment. Will it just be you today, sir?"
I smile back, manners are important, and respond with, " Yes, it's just me today, thank you." I follow him to the back are, and as I walk in, I see a dark haired, fair but a little tannish skinned girl turn after her friend who was all blonde, about the same complexion, told her something.
As soon as she turned, I saw her eyes and we locked eyes for a few moments. I stopped in my tracks, staring but then broke out of it, gave her a small smile and followed after the guy. But when I was looking at her, I saw her eyes. Even though I was a bit far from her, I saw they were blue. Not a dee boi like the ocean, or the sky, they were a set, fierce, icy blue. With lighter specks of a blueish white, set liek little snowflakes stopped in their tracks.
I've met many people, but her eyes, they were different. She was a bit tall, and wasn't too thin, she had a more vintag-ey style, but she had a pink twist to it. It wasn't a child's pink either, it was a soft, lighter pink that worked great. Her hair was long, she had not too thin, but a bit full set of lips.
And when she looked at me, she sort of cocked her head to the side. Not too noticeable, but just a fraction I barely causght it. She had returned my smile too, and slowly turned in her chair. The only thing that seemed off was a guy a few tables over had looked at her then followed her line of vision to see why she had done this, and spotted me. He narrowed his eyes a bit, o think. But I didn't let it get to me. I sat down and ignored him and who I assume was his date.
They guy introduced himself as my waiter, "Gello, my name is Mitchell, and I'll be you're waiter today! Can I start you with a drink?", he had asked me.
"I'll get a water, please." I had answered with, wanting something nice and refreshing.
"Of course, I'll be back," he had told me.
As he left, I looked over the menu, trying to decide what to order. I eventually decided on a 8" pepperoni pizza slice, and a salad. We love healthy boiz, I thought and chuckled quietly to myself, when my phone buzzed.
I checked my phone to find a message from my mom. I open it and she had said, "Hunny, I just got home and found you're note. Thanks for the heads up, me and Cassandra are going to go explore the downtown, you can come if you want, might take ya a while. Love ya!" I grin.
"Nah, I'm good. But thanks and have fun, stay safe. Love ya too!" As soon as I hit send, Mitchell comes with my drink and takes my order.
--------------------------1 Hour Later---------------------------
I pay and tip Mitchell $15, then head out. I'm walking down the street, looking at the neighborhood shops and mini gardens when the two girls walk out from the pizzaria, and head to the chocolate shop, with a to-go bag. As the door opens I hear some other music, and sweet smells. I go walk to my shop, and head upstairs to clean up a bit and relax.
I go into my room and lay in my bed, while reading about some old dude in Greek Mythology that was a famous inventor in the myths. I get through a few chapter and decide to go buy some sweets from the shop next door for Cassandra and mom. I pull on my coat again, grab the key and walk down to the shop and out through the front. I lock the door, and walk down two stores to get to the candy place.
As I open the door, I bump into the dark haired girl, and she accidentally drops a box. I bend down to pick it up as the same time as her and we both grab it, and laugh.
"Damn, my bad. I should really pay better attention. Here." I say to her and hand the box to her as we get up.
"No it's okay, I should've payed better attention too." She says with a smile, and it's the first I hear her voices. It's soft. It's not that high pitched. It's matured, and a bit raspy. I don't think I'll ever forget it.
