KOTORI’S POV
The time flew by while Umi and I were in each other's embrace. I'm genuinely surprised, as I never thought Umi would be the one to confess, not in a million years. I'm just glad she loves me back. We pulled away from our hug, but both felt it was too short a duration. I immediately wrapped my arms around her again.
"Kotori-chan, c-can we stay like this for a while?" Umi asked in a rather cute fashion.
"Absolutely."
And so we remained in each other's arms until the final bell rang, signaling the soon departure of all students. We gathered our things and headed out the door.
Sure enough, the halls were crowded with students. But the KotoUmi ship sailed through the sea of pupils, eventually making it to the exit. we were met by the rest of the members of µ's. It seems they wanted to do something before we all left.
I smiled at Umi as we approached the group. She blushed and looked at the ground, as she always does.
"Oi, you two! Over here, Nya!" Rin waved at us, and we simultaneously nodded, acknowledging her call. We reunited with µ's and waited for the mass of people to dwindle.
"Okay, now that we can hear each other, I'd like to congratulate everyone on being extra productive today. Harasho! have a good day, minna!" Eli happily waved and left with Nozomi. Maki left with Rin and Hanayo, and Nico left with Honoka, for a reason I'm unaware of.
“So… what should we do? There’s plenty of time left in the day.” I asked.
“We should probably check to see whether or not we have homework. We missed a lot of our classes, you know…” Umi stated in her matter-of-fact voice.
“Actually, Umi-chan, we don’t have homework on Mondays anymore. I talked with my mom, and she agreed to have all teachers not assign anything on our days off.” I smiled at a confused Umi, who eventually nodded and smiled back.
“Okay, so what else can we do?” She thought out loud. I watched as she thoughtfully rubbed her chin. It’s a habit she’s recently developed. Kind of like how Maki scratches her neck when she’s nervous, but safer. Umi quickly glances at me, and I realize I’ve been staring.
“Wha- quit staring at me, it’s weird!” Umi turned a dark shade of red.
“I can’t help it, Umi-chan. You’re just really pretty.” I shyly whispered.
“Shameless!” Umi snapped, but laughed immediately afterwards. Her perfect teeth showed, and I smiled to myself at the beauty that stood before me. I’m so happy she’s mine.
“Um…” She nervously chuckled. “Nozomi and Eli like getting parfaits, maybe we should try?”
“Sure thing, but if we find them at the cafe try not to be so gay in front of them.” I beamed at her, earning a blush and smile.
“Wh- uh… what are you talking about? It’s not like I can’t keep my cool in public!” Umi puffed her cheeks.
“I don’t know, Umi-chan. One cute look from me and you might lose control.” I teased.
“SHAMELESS!!!” Umi covered her face in her hands and blushed more red than Maki’s hair. I remembered she can’t handle these types of situations.
“Aww, sorry Umi-chan. I forgot you get embarrassed so easily. Will you forgive me? Please?” I gave her my best puppy eyes, and the minute she looked at me her expression softened.
