I adjust my jacket, over my dress, it's my first day working for the BAU. My heels click against the hardwood floor of my house. I grab my lunch box, which reads human organ for transplant, and hurry to my beautiful blue Nissan Sentra. I keep it immaculately clean, washing it once a week. I arrive at the FBI headquarters. My home away from home, my dad was part of the FBI, so when I was little he would bring me to work with him. I walk in carrying my lunch, put it in the fridge and then am greeted by a very stoic, tall, man with black hair.
"I'm agent Hotchner, I'm the lead agent of this team, you must be agent Kennedy."
"Nice to meet you, Hotch." I smile and shake his hand. I see the rest of the team behind him a moment later.
"Team this is agent Ashlynn Kennedy. Agent Kennedy this is-"
"Wait I think I got all the names down. Agent Dave Rossi, Agent Jennifer Jureau, Agent Derek Morgan, Dr. Spencer Reid and Agent Emily Prentiss." I smile. I see each of their jaws drop.
"Oh great we've got a female Reid." Morgan groans. I smile with my dimples showing.
"So where's Penelope?" I ask smiling, I miss my best friend. I see the blonde rush up to me and hug me tightly.
"Ahhh, Ashy!"
"Penny!" We pull away and I see everyone else looking at us confused.
"Ashlynn and I have been friends for years, She's the only friend I had when my parents died." I smile and then Hotch interrupts.
"Well we've gotta go to Louisville, Darrin Call is in the midst of a spree killing." I nod grab my bag from the car and we head to the plane. I sit next to Reid, he's wearing a knee brace. He's kinda cute. I read over Darrin's file. Found abandoned at six years old, that's odd other than that there's no history of him existing. Hmmmm, I watch the video again.
"He got violent after not getting his medication right?" I ask, to me he appears defensive, attacking when someone touches him. The blinking, the tic where he's holding the side of his head. "Are you sure it's not a psychotic break?" I ask.
"What makes you think psychotic break, Ashlynn?" Hotch asks.
"The way he's blinking, how he keeps shoving something away from his head, he doesn't attack immediately, just after someone touches him." I answer and Hotch nods more or less not really listening, I don't have that trust yet, well this sucks. I sit in the station with Spencer trying to figure out this mystery. I keep my theory of a psychotic break.
"I think you might be onto something, Ashlynn." Spencer tells me as he's trying to create a timeline.
"The behavior just screams psychotic break to me, of course I've lived through them." I mumble the last part. I figure he's going to his doctor. Knowing Hotch won't even give my theory a second thought, I call Garcia. "Hey penny, can you pull up Call's medical records, and get the name of his psychiatrist?"
"What tells you he sees a psychiatrist?"
"I think it's a psychotic break, that's probably where he's headed next."
"Damn nail on the head, he sees dr. Cipola, state appointed psychiatrist, I'll send the address to Hotch."
"Thank you!" I hang up and Reid is staring at me. "What?" I raise an eyebrow.
"You've got something on the back of your dress." I grab my bag and head to the ladies room.
"Oh, goddamn it! I wasn't supposed to start yet." I groan and change into my black pants. I put the dress away to be washed later. I hate being irregular. "Thanks, Spencer." He nods. I know later tonight I'm gonna be unable to move. Hotch calls us.
"What more do you have on Call? I'm starting to agree with Ashlynn." I smile.
"He sees dr. Cipola, Garcia sent the address already, he has no history before age 6 but if he's off an anti-psychotic, and he's been off it more than a month, his memories are starting to come back so he's probably trying to rewrite his past, believing he's still a child, looks like if he already hit dr. Cipola's office, he's heading to the orphanage where he was raised. He will have changed his clothes, maybe blood bothers him, and probably have taken his file, because he wants answers." Spencer jumps in.
"I asked Garcia to look and see if there's any unsolved cases in the area that were especially traumatic for a child, and had survivors." The chief looks at us.
"In 1975 we had a pretty gruesome case, we call it the hollow creek murders, but we try not to talk about it." We start going through the case files looking for any answers. We figure out who Darrin Call's father is, and that now after taking a boy from the orphanage, that's where he's heading. Hotch goes in, no vest or anything, after a few minutes we hear three gunshots. And Hotch is bringing Darrin out in cuffs.
